We've stayed at this resort many times, this was our first time eating in the restaurant. Started with drinks. My first drink tasted extremely watered down, there were ice chips floating in it, so I knew it was diluted. Ordered a different drink and it was delicious.
First I was told they were out of the only vegan option, so I wasn't going to eat, then they said they had it, so I ordered it. Boyfriend got a burger and fries. My entree was so salty, it felt like it destroyed my taste buds. I love salty food, but I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. Boyfriend's fries were cold so they gave him a tiny appetizer plate for the burger and took away the fries. They brought him new fries but never gave him a new dinner plate, so he had to struggle with trying to use the tiny plate for a big burger. Since I sent my dish back, I didn't have dinner at all. Boyfriend also ordered cheesecake which he said was not even as good as store bought. It came with berries on the side which he gave to me since I had no other food. Server was nice but I felt like we were her only table because she stopped by constantly and seemed to hover too much. She finally got another table and we were left alone.
Moved up to the bar for a drink and the staff there seemed annoyed with everyone. Decided to try to order some fries for myself since I hadn't eaten all day and the boyfriend told them no salt because he was afraid of oversalting like my entree. Fries took a really long time and finally were served in a large silver bowl, like the kitchen would use to season before putting on a plate. Weird. Asked for salt to season myself but the fries were cold so I gave up. Only had one drink though I had hoped to relax there longer.
We live in the neighborhood and love this resort, and will staycation again, but we won't eat there again. I'm really not a picky person I'm restaurants and we did tip our server about 40% for our "trouble" because I felt bad for complaining. But thinking about it the next day, that was a lot of things to go wrong in one visit, especially considering the food...
Read moreAtmosphere- 10, food 8, service 4. Beautiful atmosphere. Shocking that the food and wine menu is so limited. Calamari was very good! Caesar salad was par. Hamburger- great! NY steak - par. Nothing bad to say about the food. We had the Intrinsic red blend…. Very good, but wish it came w a nice wine glass instead of something you would get at Dennys. Service was the biggest issue. Slow….. checked a text I had sent to realized it was 30 min from the time we sat down to when we had beverages at all- sodas and wine. The restaurant was not busy and plenty of staff around at about 8pm. We were there over 20 minutes before any drink or food orders were taken. It would have been worse without the attention of the younger blonde male server or busboy who attended our needs- whoever he was, he was not our sever. We looked for him at the end to try and tip him, but we didn’t find him at that point. As having experience in the hospitality industry- it is frustrating to see all the potential of this lovely place not reached by poor service and a little attention to small tweaks that could be made to the menu, wine glasses, and some additions to upper wine by the glass options. If they put a little effort in those areas, I would prefer this as a cozy option to Point of View and Terrace. Overall, a better than expected dining considering the poor attention to this resort by Hilton. Hilton- pay attention to this great real estate and make it what it deserves. I feel like I’m in Hilton bizarro land. So much...
