I hate that I even have to write this review right now. The restaurant and view were great and the food was good. However, service from this place was actually horrible. We made reservations for a 10 top for a birthday on 11/19/24 at 6:45 pm. I tried calling the restaurant starting at 4:30 pm all the way until almost our reservation time. I was inquiring about pushing the reservation back to 7:15 pm as some people were still needed more time to get into town for the reservation. I called the restaurant and even tried calling resort 21 TIMES and was sent to an automated message every single time. However, we show up to dinner and check in. Upon being sat we’re greeted by our server Robert (who never even told us his name we found out from the receipt later on) We order cocktails some of the mods for the drinks came out wrong but it was quickly fixed and now we are inquiring about ordering a bottle of wine (Syrah blend) and as I’m ordering Robert tells me the owner pushes that wine because they bottle it themselves blah blah and suggests another bottle of wine we weren’t interested in (Malbec). The wine he suggested was cheaper it wasn’t even an upsell method. He brings over the cocktails and brings over the bottle of wine for the table opens it, pours for the 3 of us drinking red wine. Right as he’s about to leave he brings ANOTHER bottle of wine opens it and sets it at the table and runs off. We only ordered 1 bottle and he brings over two but we can’t say anything because he’s gone so I guess we’re having two bottles. The entire experience Robert is arguing with everyone about every little thing that we ordered. I have never seen a server have such an opinion on every little thing someone’s ordering it was crazy! One person at the table ordered 2 apps and a side as their main and asked to send it out all together as her main dish and Robert refused to do that and told her he was going to have the kitchen send out one of the appetizers first. Me and the same person ordered the same side of polenta and he told us we were ordering too much food and he didn’t think it would be good. At this point I’m speechless. I tell him we want what we’re ordering and he moves on. Food comes out in courses it’s great pork belly was great as well as the bone marrow. Dinner comes out majority of the table ordered steaks and temps were clearly a hit or miss across the board. I ordered a Pittsburg Rare New York and mine came out med rare turning medium if I let it sit there and I let Robert know and he takes to the chef then he comes out and let’s me know the they’re re-firing a new steak and THEN 5 minutes later he comes out again and is like “I just want to show you something” this man pulled out a flashlight and my steak from 10 minutes ago and said if you flip the steak over the other side was a little bit closer than the opposite side but chef is making you a new one. New steak comes out it’s great. After dinner we’re ordering desserts and Robert’s again jumping down our throats on how we should order and we ordered a couple desserts for the table and then he starts calling out desserts like every people was ordering one. I spoke up again and said no we’re sharing the desserts we ordered. This brings me back to him bringing us 2 bottles of wine when we ordered one and now he was trying to throw in an individual dessert for everyone. Overall, everyone enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and this could have been really great but our server absolutely ruined it. I get he’s an older guy and career server and has probably worked at this place for many many years but that was horrendous. Manager was doing some table touching and asked us how everything. I was so mad I didn’t saying because it was my birthday dinner and I wanted to enjoy everything and not escalate...
Read moreFor a Birthday Celebration and Typically one of my preferred dining choices, the View of course, atmosphere and the staff was friendly however, not impressed last evening. Had made reservations thru Open Table - which may have contributed to - Arrived for a reserved Point of View table and was instead seated in the Terrace, two occupied tables - a couple on the far left, a family on the far right - Entirely open, the hostess seats us directly next to the family ??? The server was interpreting the entire menu for them, requesting a kids menu, while the child's IPhone games drowned out her responses for them...so we approached the bar for cocktails. One Star Down. The sun was shining in and seemed like we were in a terrarium. When I notice a droplet of sweat from my guest I proceeded to ask the server if we could move. She was fine with that. We reviewed the menu for our favorites, ordered then ventured out to the patio. Outside we noticed a sign indicating a private event that had the Point of View reserved. This made me question WHY my reservation for the Point of View was accepted when obviously the venue was booked. I did not want the Terrace yet arrived and had No choice. They should have known seating was unavailable. I consider this deceptive and unacceptable. Two Stars Down Our food was served. My wife, always has the sea bass, appeared confused, notice the arrangement had changed so basically just ate the fish. The salad portions have shrunk considerably while the price grew. Same for the lobster mash potatoes, one of her favorite, were pureed and the portion was tiny compared to Maestro and others. Guest had the Filet, not quite cooked to liking but indicated good flavor. I started with my favorite, the Lobster Bisque, which was OK, had better there, and my usual, the Roasted Rack of Lamb. The lamb also arrived with a different arrangement of garnishments, It wasn't a "Rack" I expecting more than 4 chops ...however..they were dry and kinda flavorless.. as compared to the Creekside Grill you get 3 and some tasty drizzle on them for 60% less ...yes, I've had much better there. Upon receiving the check the server was SO KIND to include her 20% gratuity in the Total. I definitely consider this deceptive and unacceptable. Patrons determine the gratuity - Not the establishment and what we experienced should have been reversed. Three Stars Down. The staff was nice and the Bartender comped a round (3) of Birthday drinks.. but they don't make policy. Not sure what when on - is going on there over the past year, new management, prices doubled, food supplier, chefs...??? Not Good. I cannot recommend anything here now. It's changed, and most likely I wont be finding out if they correct themselves or not the rest of this year. They are WAY OVER PRICED for the portions and quality of Food. So sad to take them off my List but they did it...
Read moreI went here for my 5 year anniversary with my boyfriend, and let me first say that this was unlike anything I have ever experienced.
Literally, everyone I came into contact with was so polite and kind. Our server was Nash, and he made the whole night worthwhile. The views aren't a joke. They overlooked almost all of Phoenix, and the server assistant even helped take pictures. I'm sorry to say I didn't get his name, but he was fantastic as well. I would highly recommend asking to get Nash as your server. We also informed them that it was our anniversary when we made the reservation and was able to get a table on an elevated platform that ensured that we wouldn't have to look through the backs of heads when we looked through the windows. Also, free bread! They give you a variety of bread and spreads to try, each are delicious, but the strawberry butter was my favorite.
Now, food. I had gotten the salmon, and it came with broccolini and bamboo rice. The crust on this salmon was so good, and it was so soft on the inside, the perfect combination. The broccolini was good, I'm not one for broccolini, but it went very well with the dish. I've never had bamboo rice, but it really brought the whole plate together. And mix all of that with some lemon, and you've got heaven on a plate. 10/10 would recommend
My boyfriend got the bacon wrapped pork chops, and it came in an apple mustard sauce that was to die for. The plate comes with green beans that are so soft and tender, along with some spatzl. Now, I was just as confused as you were when I read that on the menu. The closest thing I can compare it to is garlic butter noodles, but it was really good with everything mixed together.
We did indeed get dessert. We had gotten the chocolate upside down cheesecake, and it was small but the perfect portion for 2 as it was super rich. It had a small chocolate plaque that said "happy anniversary," and it was super cute altogether.
I did have a glass of white wine, I wish I had remembered what it was but I only had a glass and it was so sweet, which I love. If you do go, it was the very first wine in the 'by the glass' section from the white wine selection.
Now, prices. Big one. My meal was $47, and my boyfriend was $46. The single glass of wine was $9.95, and the dessert was $13.75. We only got waters, no soda, so that saved us a few bucks, but the total came to $126. We did leave a $30 tip, so it was $157 total with specific cents left off because my memory isn't that great.
Overall, I do recommend it because it is a very romantic place and the food is to die for. Be prepared to spend some money but it is so worth it. Nash, 10/10, if you see this, you were amazing and made our 5 year anniversary one to...
