PLEASE READ WHOLE THING! North Mountain Visitor Center is a beautiful place to go hiking and explore. The reason it is kept so clean and trash free is because of the dedicated girl scouts who pickup trash around the grounds. So please everyone, do not litter. Thank you for reading this review and please like it! Stay safe! ;) Also, that pretty globe like yellow flower that's all around in the spring here, it's called globe chamomile. IT IS A DANGEROUS WEED that must be removed. It is highly flammable and causes severe allergies in people. Don't believe me... See for yourself online. We need your help to remove this. Please take it out from the roots and dispose in a trash can. Overall the north mountain visitor center is a wonderful place worth a trip. The staff are so friendly and helpful! Considerate and caring! It is...

Multiple different trails can be reached here to go to the radio towers north mountain, or the backside of similar hills in the area. The hikes here are nothing to rant or rave about I would say. They are flat concrete most of the way by the highway . It's a pretty boring type of hike in opinion compared to others in the valley. Its heavily trafficked in parts with mountain bikers. Sometimes it gets dangerous as they go too fast . The best thing is the facilities here are well maintained and well kept . Were talking immaculate . Which is actually kind of bizarre 🤣😂🤣. It is nice though👌. I like the fact you can get cool water before or after the hike. Even in 119degree heat. It's still super cold 🤘👌🌵🌴🌵I've never been in the visitor's center . They have music there on Tuesday I read on the flyer . It's a cool place...

A must-visit, beautiful mountain in the heart of Phoenix with various intensity trails. Always spot lots of wildlife and the trails are busy with hiker and biker activity at various times in the morning. The paved trail up to the main tower is a great high-intensity trail for training. The visitor center side has plenty of parking and the center hosts many activities as well as a lovely information and display area where you can find books on identifying birds and garden insects, gardening in AZ, and many other AZ-themed resources. The picnic and observation deck outside the center is a fabulous space for outdoor yoga, tai chi, etc. Definitely got to check out this leading hiking...

The North Mountain Visitor’s Center is an excellent starting spot for families to learn about local animal and plant life, hike some easy trails, and have some hands on nature fun with games and toys! We’ve been to this center before and it offers a little bit of everything! The exhibit hall has information about the history of the preserve, and interactive options for kids to learn about animals. A small paved trail starts from this area too, with picnic tables, and lovely views of the mountains. Don’t miss the reading room! This area will excite kids and adults with the wide variety of books, stuffed animals, puzzles, toys, coloring books, and more to expand the learning moments. There’s a scavenger hunt too! Our nine year old loved this room and said his favorite part was learning about the different rocks and minerals in Arizona. And of course, you can find numerous hiking trails here. The volunteers at the info desk are happy to give suggestions based on your ability and time available. We hiked part of the Trail 100, which is wide and easy for kids. Pack a lunch and take the kids exploring at this centrally located Phoenix nature spot this weekend! All free. The @northmountainvisitorcenter is open 7 days a week at 8am, at 12950 N 7th St, Phoenix, AZ 85022 . Their gift shop is also packed full of desert themed books written by local authors, rocks and gems, handmade jewelry, and more - a great place to shop for gifts! All proceeds go to the Save Our Mountain Foundation, which operates the visitor’s center, and is dedicated to preserving the preserve through land acquisition and education. Event rooms are available to rent for any occasion, including birthday parties! Learn more at https://northmountainvisitorcenter.org/. [s.ponsored]

This is a great place for my kids to learn about the Arizona desert. You could spend all day exploring the trails if you wanted to, but we usually explore for less than an hour in the morning to get my kids used to hiking. The beginning of the trail is perfect for my young ones to experience hiking on flat, easy terrain. Then after we finish our hike, we head over to the visitor center to cool off. It is a beautiful space with a lot of interesting things to look at. We enjoy the children's room where they have lots of books, and educational toys, although they are outdated. The staff is very friendly as well, and they offer a reading program where kids can earn prizes for books they read.
