The looks of this place are concerning at first as I wouldn't expect a place in this part of town to have high standards. Reading the reviews there were inconsistencies in experiences ranging from best sushi ever to the worst ever. I was intrigued to try a Sonoran take on sushi and noticed some of the rolls certainly define themselves as such. One roll the Sushi Sonora had carne asada and there was not a bit of seafood within and deep fried of course. It tasted like a cream deep fried rice bowl if you were to take the insides of a burrito which is what I think they were going for. The dinamita was a deep fried experience again and had a plain flavor but the Hoisen sauce and Wasabi that was provided help to enhance the flavor. The portions were huge and the service was great but be warned you should make sure to bring your Google translation for the majority of their staff is Spanish speaking and try their best to accommodate English only customers. Our waitress was amazing and took the extra effort to make sure nothing was misunderstood. One thing that I would say is each roll comes with imitation crab chopped finely and spooned onto the side and to me it was difficult to tell if I liked it or not. For the three rolls I tried they were okay. Its certainly not great sushi, but it also isn't bad sushi. One roll is enough to feed one normal appetite. I would go again if to accompany others for the experience or to try their other specialties, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Not sure why many sites rank this place so high as one of the best sushi...
Read moreI been coming here since the day it opened, I loved their food so no complaints about taste. Yesterday service was very slow & it took awhile for us to get our food & they had ran out of ice so our drinks were not cold. Our server was not the best & after receiving our meals she stopped checking on us for drinks or anything else. We were done eating & it took the server about 30 more minutes to bring us the check to my surprise there was the tip already added to our check which I wouldn’t mind if the service was excellent & we would of been taken care of but unfortunately it wasn’t. After paying I notice there was a fee of 3% to use the card payment which again I wouldn’t mind if I would of been warned about fee & I would of payed cash instead. I let the server know to next time please let me know there’s a 3% fee for card usage & she became defensive & said I been working here for 3 years & it’s always been like that. I didn’t want to have an argument with her I simply wanted to let her that as a paying customer please let customers know there’s a 3% surcharge for card payments she proceeded to get defensive. My original payment without fees or tips was $138 & after fees it was $176 so it was a bit too much & to be fair service was not great to be adding a tip for disgusting service. I know my family & I not returning to this establishment won’t affect your restaurants income but imagine if this continues to occur ? Let your consumers determine their tip amount depending on service. Food is not the issue it’s...
Read moreI LOVE THIS PLACE , I always come here with my significant other . This is our go to whenever we don’t know what we want to eat or don’t want to worry about getting bad food or service somewhere else . They NEVER go wrong the food always comes out fresh they’re very attentive and sweet . All of their workers are great people and so is the owner . If you’ve never tried Mexican sushi this is THE SPOT , it’s affordable and they give you an amazing amount I usually cant finish a whole roll . I love it and I think if you’re looking for a place to try out Mexican sushi you should come here . You just have to experience it for yourself to understand what I mean . It’s flavorful and their sauces are also amazing (I’ve tried their fried rice and most of their sushi’s) . On weekends they also sometimes have live music or other small businesses outside which I think is also amazing it’s just a very welcoming happy place . Never...
