Shibuya Japanese street food — Restaurant in Piedmont

I drove by this place for weeks, making the same joke that I'm sure most people do when passing by: Sushi? Out of the back of a truck? In this parking lot?

But alas, this is probably the best sushi I've had in all of Greenville, and definitely the best sushi I've had on this side of Greenville (i.e. not downtown). My boyfriend and I ate here on a recent Sunday afternoon as a compromise between my requirement for sushi and his requirement that we don't stray too far from our house, and wow, we were not disappointed!

He got the steak hibachi and monster roll, and I got a spicy tuna roll, domino roll and monster roll, and everything was freshly made, high quality and absolutely delicious. We also got the spring rolls and gyoza, which though clearly pre-made frozen items, were also tasty and of great quality. It was a bit pricey for a hangover lunch, but absolutely worth it.

I can't say enough good about this place! I've told everyone in the area I know about it (and, of course, they make the same joke), and I cannot wait to come make this a regular spot when we get tired of the (few) other local spots. Try the truck sushi, you won't be...

I absolutely love this place. I ordered the bento box shrimp tempura again. I recently brought my daughter and treated her a bento box of her choice. They have new seating in the back now. Looks great! They told me they will fix it up really nice with outdoor covered seating. Can't wait!

I went back for a tempura Benton box on October 12,2025 and the sushi chef was out sick. So my bento box was missing the California roll but that was not a problem. He gave me $1 off for the missing roll. The issue was that the tempura shrimp was not tempura. It was plain fried shrimp. I asked about it and the cook informed me that they had changed the batter to this regular batter. They had really good food. I hope the are not starting to cut corners. Please use real tempura batter if you're calling it tempura. By the way they still do not have the nice covered sitting in the back. They just move the nice tables next to the convenient store....

Difficult to find if you aren't familiar with the area like I am. Smelled amazing as I got out of my car. The two workers were very nice. Food was packaged very well. It smelled delicious as I drove the food home and I was not disappointed once I got home to eat it. I had the steak and shrimp hibachi and it was cooked perfectly. The white sauce had great flavor. The crab Rangoon, dumplings and spring rolls were perfect as well. I will definitely go back when I'm back...
