It was my first time here, and it was a remarkable experience. The waitress in the photo was very sweet and attentive and cheerful. I got a #1 breakfast plate which includes a couple of eggs, goetta, home fries, and choice of bread. I ordered my eggs over medium and they were done to perfection. I like my home fries to be well grilled, but was afraid if I ordered them that way they might be overdone. They were fried to perfection with diced sweet onions mixed in. Shortly after I ordered I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder. It was my waitress asking if I would mind if an old Army veteran (I found out he was 92) sat with me at my table. She said he liked to talk to people. I like to talk to people and listen as well, so I was glad for the company. He agreed to let me take his picture seen in this review. Before our food came he started singing and dancing with our waitress through the narrow spaces between the rows of tables. After we ate he started singing and dancing with the other waitress all around the restaurant while other diners were smiling and chuckling. I like mom and pop kinds of places, and it doesn't get any more mom and pop than this. Visiting this place isn't just a meal, it's an experience!

First thing noticed was the crowd, very good sign. Fortunately only two of us so we were able to get a table quickly. Our waiter Katie was swift and friendly. Prices were decent for these days. Food came out in a decent time. It makes a world of difference when a place puts so much care into the sides. The homefries were excellent; separate, crunch, and soft inside. A half order of biscuits and gravy and good biscuits(not like some local places that use those horrible Sam's premade things or similar) and enough gravy with a half order to smother my homefries. I would go back just for b&g with homefries. Only thing i would change would be to dry fry the spinach so it's not so watery, but not enough to diminish anything about the place. Told that french toast and goetta were good too. Hard to believe it took this long to get over there when it's so close, but every time I thought about the place it's been closed. Not many only-breakfast-and-lunch places around these days. I will definitely be back. We both highly recommend this place and sitting at one of Katie's tables!

This morning we had breakfast at my favorite restaurant Poochies. We eat there for breakfast or lunch. They are a mom&pop restaurant that has the best food around. But, there is far to Poochies then the food. The staff is fabulous and fantastic. They literally enjoy their costumes. We have seen then open the doors for those going, help some to their cars, helping their customers out in general. Today was the best ever, an older gentleman got done with his breakfast and he decided he wanted a dance. He asked a few ladies who turned him down and seeing this, one of the staff stepped up to dance with him thru the restaurant! He was soo happy, I know she made his day.. Kudos mother staff at Poochies, you are one of the reasons why we keep coming back.

I have been here twice. Both times, the service was absolutely horrible. First time was in early February. No one acknowledged me at my table for over 10 minutes, and as I was getting ready to leave, a waitress finally said "hi" but kept walking. The waitress brought me a menu and asked if I was ready to order. Since I had never been there, I told her I needed a few minutes but ordered an iced tea. She brought it immediately and again asked if I was ready. "No, I just got the menu." She came back in no more than 30 seconds and asked again. "I might as well wing something because you are not giving me time to look at the menu." I ordered a 3 meat omelette. They were out of hash browns. When my meal came out, I went to start eating but noticed I had no silverware. It took me 5 minutes to flag down another waitress and ask for silverware, but she went to the kitchen, handed my waitress silverware and said, "Take it to him!" When she delivered the silverware, she said, "How is everything?" I responded, "I don't know. I just got my silverware." She walked off in a huff. About halfway through the meal, I noticed I received a ham and cheese omelette. I ordered the 3 meat. I was never offered a refill on my tea. I told the owner at the counter what happened, and she was sympathetic and gave me half off. The food was okay, but I was really disappointed with the service. So, I decided to try again on 3/20/16. The place was absolutely packed. Took about 15 minutes to get a table. Finally got one, and when the waitress came, I immediately gave her my order. I received my iced tea, but she failed to put in a lemon slice like I requested. My tenderloin was ordered without lettuce, but, of course, had lettuce. I requested mayo, but no mayo. I finally caught the waitress and asked for mayo, and she said ok. She then went back and forth between the kitchen four times while taking three tables' orders. She cleared off other tables. After about 7 minutes, she looked over and said, "Mayo, right?" She then brought out this huge squeeze bottle that was less than a quarter full and slammed it on my table. It took forever to get any mayo out of that container. No refill on my tea was offered. I again told the owner when I paid, and she said, "No one ever complains on the service here." The waitress was standing next to her basically denying my claims. The owner then said, "I guess you are just unlucky. It must just be you that this happens to." I told them both that while I understood that the place was busy, the service was not good. They don't care. So, I will not be returning. I would seriously think twice about returning if I were anyone reading this. If I could give no stars as a rating, I would. As for William Secen saying that I might be a little gay because of my review, you are nothing but a little weasel hiding behind the internet. I know bad service when it is...

Foods great people are ok The atmosphere and the service is sabbatical servers are back and forth. Seems when I’m waiting in line for a takeout they don’t Seem to know that I’m just getting food for a take out I don’t know if they are not familiar with take out or just uneasy. of course when they’re busy it’s fine usually during later Close to noon sometimes early morning. They have enough servers and cashiers in the establishment I can say Respectful though in a way certain that of the demeanor. I got an order, didn’t take long, which is great but I ordered a chicken sandwich plain with a goetta grilled cheese sandwich got my order took it home found out my sandwich Was just ā€œgrilled cheeseā€ and chicken sandwich was fine came back with the car this time I had to go to work. I asked for a refund or credit for later they ask if I could wait for the goetta sandwich but I couldn’t because of work and they the refund with receipt as they did… till soon as I saw my bank statement the four dollars and something cents was not returned. I will not come back just for this reason. I have the receipt and the bank statement and also call the bank for the dispute resolution my bank has made discovery on the refund and they have found the system poochies has not made a crediting payment?!

P.s. They said they can give me the grilled cheese back, but I didn’t want it but after that Food is great, but their service is not reluctant. Repeat yourself, double check and recap. when you go there I heard a few have complained when I stood next to one of the customers when I ordered before this incident they wanted sunny side not scrambled. Common error in restaurants but this is 4$ I have not received of payment return for a grilled cheese I can get at krogers for the price of stack of...

The Good: The food is really good. The Goetta items are fantastic and cooked very well. The only issue with food was the gravy for the biscuits, which tasted very canned and artificial.

The not so good: I was searching for breakfast to carryout for my family and came across Poochie's website which was very clear and concise. I called and placed my order, which went ok, but I felt very rushed by the call taker. When I arrived, most of my ordered items were $1 or more more than they were listed on the website. I mentioned this and was told the website was old and they no longer controlled it. While I understand this, in this digital age, I am sure this will happen more than once and it is a bit frustration.

The bad: My order was missing my son's chocolate milk. No big deal. What was a bigger deal was the inadequacy of the kids meal. For a price of almost $5, he got one pancake and 2 very very small pieces of bacon. The western omlette was minuscule compared to comparable establishments and especially for the price.

The moral: Decent-Good food, Above Average prices for quality, mediocre service, and frustrating ordering. I would eat here again, but would not order carryout due to the frustration and pricing.

Order: 2 Goetta Egg B-fast Sandwiches $3.76 each One full order Biscuits and Gravy $6ish One Kids Meal $4.50+ One Western...
