Ironwood Cafe — Restaurant in Pinehurst

NYE we had a nice, VERY expensive, dining experience at Ironwood. We enjoyed ourselves, our company and the dinner. Disappointed that they added 20% to our tab like we weren't going to tip them-and my husband added a extra $20 for the excellent service-making our bill a total of close to $200 for just the 2 of us. No big deal, we enjoyed our friends, the food and the evening. However, I left a scarf there that was given to me by a close friend who purchased it in Italy. I realized when we got home and called right away and got our waiter on the phone and he found it! I was so relieved. He said they would 'hold' it but they don't open until Tuesday. Well I didn't get there Tuesday, my bad, then I worked 3- 12 hour shifts with the snow storm and didn't get there until Saturday the 6th. The manager had no clue what I was looking for and was looking for my precious scarf on a random coat rack right by the front door! She had no clue who I was or what I was looking for? She said she would speak to the other managers and get back to me. Days past, I called and spoke to Ryan, he talked to me like he never heard the story; great communication! Stated the GM would call me. I called today, the 14th, no scarf found, no word from the GM! Just losers over there! If you plan to spend that much money on dinner, don't you expect the staff to have a little more respect for your belongings? The food was fair, not worth the money, the service was good but don't leave ANYTHING valuable there if you EVER plan to...

We came here with a group of 14 for an anniversary dinner and sat outside under the pavilion - A bunch of rain came out of nowhere right after we sat down, misting the area, which of course isn’t the restaurants fault. What IS the restaurants fault is the utter disorganization, entitlement and quite frankly rude demeanor of some of the staff. Our server was absolutely lovely, but was overworked, over sat and set up for failure due to the managements lack of preparation. We waited over 1.5 hours to receive our check and had to ask multiple people multiple times, only to get no response or check brought out. A family member in the restaurant business finally had to go inside to get it sorted - As we were leaving, a “manager” named Jackie slammed down a tray, screamed at us that we were entitled, and stormed back inside. She then proceeded to walk THROUGH the crowded restaurant, cursing, pointing and yelling at us out on the patio. I fail to see how it’s entitled to ask for our check so that we can pay YOUR restaurant. And then to stalk through the restaurant making a scene with other customers around was absolutely unacceptable. I’ve seen 5 year olds behave with more dignity. We were offered for the whole bill to comp-d and we then stated that all we wanted to was to pay for the food and services we received and didn’t want the whole thing to be free. Wonderful Birthday Celebration with my Daughter & my Good Friends drove to SouthernPines, NC from "Lake Wiley" South Carolina! We had such a Fabulous Lunch/Birthday Celebration together! I had made Reservations, called week before to ask for their very Special, Scrumptious "Tuxedo Truffle Bombs" but was told they dont have them everyday! So I called back on Weekend, was given the "IronWood Cafe" Manager "Dave" he was was so very nice, I ask could I buy them on Sunday to save for Tuesday? Mgr Dave, explain their Deserts are made Fresh, so won't be good to get for Tuesday! But Mgr also said He would try have them for Tuesday Lunch Menu! On our visit Tuesday Oct 8th we were so Suprised, Hostess was aware of our Little Celebration, gave us a Lovely Table with view outside! Then, our Server also knew of our Duel B-Day Celeration, let us know for Desert "Tuxedo Truffle Bombs" were waiting for Us! Everyone at Ironwood was so very nice, we felt Special & made us All so very Happy! My Daughter & I have been to "The Ironwood" for Brunch, also Dinners!
