First of all I'm rating La Cabana cigar event Saturday night!! As soon as we got there there was at least four people standing by where you enter not one of them greets you, they look like they don't even want to be there, so couple minutes later we Mosey up to their version of a bar which is a small shed looking thing, the girl couldn't have had a worse attitude! (The Bartender) She didn't even look at us but she did look at her phone 2xs while she made our drinks! then they have a food truck, I asked a young man a question and I'm Spanish which was fortunate and I asked him a question in English and he immediately while he's on his phone still of course diverts me to a woman that's in front of him so she has a talk to me and answer any questions that I have about the food, which I guess is the new generation thing, don't know how you can be working at a place and you can't at least speak the language that you're selling the food of!!but that's neither here nor there, now second part of my bad experience at this place, I don't know if this place thinks they're in the middle of Midtown New York or Midtown Los Angeles or Midtown Miami but I bought one drink and two beers and it was $34 with a tip and I left a $4 tip because I felt bad because the place was empty!!! Even after the Bartender was horrible, you know if you want to have decent business you're located in the middle of a highway you might not want to charge $10 for a jail alai and $8.50 for a Corona like you're some happening Club in the middle of Calle Ocho or Times Square in New York or something just the overall a very bad experience although we did go to the other bar and get drinks and of course the girl there was very nice and accommodating but I'd stay away from the La Cabana cigar on less they make a lot of changes!! Wouldn't you rather sell beers for three to five dollars and at least sell 30 when the place is empty then the charge $8 and $10 for a beer and sell five of them in the 3 hours that you're open? I'm not a business major but I think that...
Read moreSUCH A CUTE SPOT! I recently discovered this cafe and couldn’t believe I wasn’t in a luscious Clearwater (if there weren’t any tourists)! I have many great things to say about this place.
SERVICE: Every person I met was an absolute bundle of joy and I felt like I was on a little vacation! I went here when it was in the middle of the week in the morning, so it was pretty empty. Because of this, I felt like I was so attended to and really got to connect with the staff! The women who checked us out and helped me as a first timer, Caroline, made my day! She told me some great menu items and gave me a tip on where to sit to view the dolphins! We even had a bit of trouble with the kitchen being out of certain menu items and she was SO accommodating.
ATMOSPHERE: It doesn’t get more calm, breezy, and beachier than this! I was in awe of every view, table, and piece of decor! I was also lucky to visit on an amazing 65-70 deg. windy day. I felt like all of my worries had left me! I also saw a lot of dolphins from the view of the cafe.
FOOD: The food is very cute and what you would expect from a cafe like this. I go here more for the view and experience, and I’m not a huge coffee or brunch person. Nevertheless, they have a great selection of food and drinks. I enjoyed their strawberry coffee latte, which had a great sweetness mixed with bitterness of coffee. I also shared a plate of their biscuits + gravy, along with their peanut butter and banana toast. their biscuits and gravy are divine, especially if you enjoy lobster. As for the peanut butter and banana toast, nothing special, but it’s good!
Try this place out, I’m so...
Read moreI highly recommend NEVER wasting your time here, however if you need specifics. We arrived to a full parking lot, finally found parking, walked through the entire restaurant confused on where this coffee shop is. Found someone to ask and eventually located it. Waited in line for about 5-10 minutes to ORDER, paid $16 for a small chai and a small iced coffee with a side of bacon. Of course they ask you if you want to tip and STUPIDLY we did. We were given a buzzer and seated ourself, ten minutes, twenty minutes, ok it’s been while let’s go check on our coffee, so we go stand in front of the food cart with no less than 20-30 people also waiting. The girl “working” had about ten drinks in front of her sitting there melting and she had absolutely no sense of urgency whatsoever. Moved at the speed of a turtle at best, people one after another, are coming up to her and requesting their drink that is literally sitting on the counter in front of her because their buzzers were not being rung. We waited FOURTY MINUTES before we finally walked out. Literally complete waste of money and the service was horrible. We walked back out through the restaurant and asked to see a menu there and the lady behind the counter told us if we wanted to see one we needed to go sit down. After entirely too much back and forth she finally just handed us one. The service is horrible and they’re grossly understaffed in the coffee area and seemingly OVERSTAFFED at the restaurant. I will never return...
