To be more precise I would probably rate this place a 2.75 stars as they stand currently but I rounded up.
Brought the family here over the weekend including the parents for breakfast. There was a 20 min wait but not an issue as they were very busy and that's to be expected. The issue for us was the lady who served us had a very cranky attitude (it was apparent it was NOT directed towards us it is just her usual demeanor and she was like that to EVERY client). Its strange going into a place not wanting to even ask for anything extra like bowls or condiments and waiting for when she leaves and just getting up and asking the bar tender for it. Again I really don't think this person can help it, its just how she is that's why I am not knocking down more stars. (Still tipped 20% as its tough out there, and it says more about me then her if I don't, basically I would feel low if I didn't give a customary 20%)
How was the food: We had the omelets and grits and gravy and soups and salads so nothing form the hamburger or sandwich menu which seemed much more appetizing when we saw others who had ordered it. I had no complaints on the food, nothing special to write home about but just normal food, the soup was a bit salty for my taste but everyone is different. I feel like the better the service the better the food tastes.
Pricing: Think its a bit high for the quality and atmosphere of the food. Should probably have a price reduction for $1 - $3 for most of the items based on the average taste of the food.
Will we come back: Yes probably, we may give it another try in the future, place is quaint will probably give them another opportunity in the future when all places are not so short staffed. Hope they can take it as constructive criticism and improve...
Read moreI arrived a bit late to join some friends - place was not very busy. My friend had just gotten her dinner and we were going to a 7 pm movie.. waiter brought the menu, and then disappeared..... for ages.
When we waved to flag him down (he was across the room fiddling around in the bar area where he'd been the last 15 minutes) to ask him to come so I could get an order in before my friend was done eating he mouthed very angrily - "I'll be there when I get there." He didn't come for a while, then made a point to check with tables on either side of us that were doing fine to see if they wanted anything. Then after making his point that he'd get to us when he felt like it.... he took my order. By this time it was really too late to get a dinner and be done in time, so I asked him how long it took to do onion rings and ordered that and a drink.
When my friend said, very nicely, she would have gotten dinner but we couldn't get you to come over so there's no time now, he snarled at her about how we should just wait and left to put in the order.
I've noticed how rude this guy is in the past. Service here and your experience all depends on the wait staff --- don't get put in Alex's section, he's really rude and has an attitude. You shouldn't have to flag someone down when its not very busy, and that he gets indignant and nasty about it is really a bit much. A normal person would say 'oh, i'm sorry' even if they thought you were being a bit in a rush -- because, for heavens sake, that's their job - to be a good and polite server!
Apparently no one has told Alex that tips are the name of the game and that you forfeit them when you behave like a...
Read moreA friend and I were told to check this place out, that they had a good breakfast. We got off work on Sunday and went there. We were seated immediately, and it wasn't busy. We'll the menu said breakfast ends at 3 and it was 310, so I asked if we really couldn't get breakfast anymore, not really expecting her to say yes but maybe they might still be okay to make one last plate 😅. Well, our waitress just flat out said no before I was even done with my question.... akward. I ignored it and asked her if I could get water with lemon , I said it twice because she seemed to be in a hurry to get away from our table. She wouldn't even look at us or smile. She was short with us and very rude sounding. My water came.... no lemon. I tried to smile and be polite, but eventually, her attitude and her making my friend and i feel like an inconvenience just straight pissed me off. I ordered a Ruben, bread wad hard as a rock and just tasted plain. I shouldn't have even given that waitress the tip I gave. I should have left her a dollar. Save yourself a trip and avoid this place. I know my friend and I won't be back, not even to try their breakfast (the real reason we went there in the 1st place) and we will make sure to really not recommend this place. Your employees are a reflection of your establishment. Don't work in customer service if you don't like to deal with certain people. The waitress was the real skinny lady with heavy...
