Food was unimpressive. Nachos with chicken, shredded lettuce, melted cheese, a couple chips on bottom of tinfoil pan. Large. cooked mushy pieces of green pepper. Ingriedients tasted fresh but no spice, no kick, nothing. I mean there was no no spice. Chicken tasted boiled and bland. It was not visually appetizing . I took 2 bites of the soggy mess and tossed it in the garbage. Not appealing or tasty at all. When I had taken my fork to get a bite the whole thing came out as one like a cake. Whomever was responsible to make this needs to not throw it together like a garbage can. Presentation is a must. Chips on bottom, chicken, cheese, lettuce, veggies and sour cream. 2 people here waiting, looked and said "What is that". The quesodilla was great, part of a sampler. The rest of the sampler tossed Into a tinfoil pan coating pieces with guac and sourcream making a huge soggy mess. I won't be returning. A $30 mess of unappetizing food as far as taste and presentation. My 5 year old niece made me a playdough hamburger, it honestly looked much better. Money wasted. PS The shredded lettuce that was on top of the nacho, I ate that with my...

My husband and I were looking for something to eat for dinner on July 3rd, the neon OPEN sign on the window is lit, we see employees and a couple dining inside, the hours on the door read that closing time is at 10:30pm(website says 11:00pm but whatever)it is now 9:15pm, and the door is LOCKED. Umm? We get the attention of a hostess inside who makes direct eye contact with me and then turns on her heel and disappears into the back somewhere. I call the number posted on the website which leads me to a cell phone voicemail. Finally an employee opens the door and says the restaurant is closed because....get this.... they were OUT OF FOOD! All the food? Not just out of chicken or salsa, but every bit of food? Why isn't there a sign on your door saying so? "oh I don't know sorry"....well your hostess looked directly at me and then ignored me...his response "oh she doesn't speak english that's why" are you kidding me? So the person who first greets customers, asks how many in a party and then seats them...doesn't speak english? Just say you guys are lazy and want to close early rather than making up some sorry lie. Ridiculous. Will...

So I ordered 3 chicken soft tacos for carryout (which I received) but I asked the server if hot or mild salsa was included and she said "yes". The container is closed so I wasn't going to open it right then and there so I asked "can I have a hot salsa please"? She said "yes" and proceeded to go to the kitchen. Fast forward 5 minutes no server, no salsa. I got the attention of another server and asked can I have a hot salsa (was willing to pay the extra if necessary) she went to the back and spoke to the server I originally asked (who was out of my line of sight) looked back at me and kinda laughed... RED FLAG! First server comes out 20 seconds later with a Salsa , hands it to me and I say "I thought you forgot about me" she looks off and under her breath says sorry. Yeah ok. Fortunately I grabbed some napkins off of the table because she gave me none and when I opened my container low and behold no salsa. No hot. No mild. Not sure what was up with that but duly noted. BTW the "Authentic Mexican" tacos I get from Southwest Detroit DO NOT put cheese on tacos. Cilantro and onions only. So there goes the "Authentic...

Our party of 4 stopped in for dinner and drinks. The atmosphere is comfortable and clean, staff is friendly and prompt and food arrives hot and timely. There isn’t an over abundance of restaurants in the area and Mi Zarape is a good option when looking for a reasonably priced meal and supporting local business. During our visit we tried a few drink options, dips, taco salad, enchiladas blanco and 2 quesadilla varieties. The stand out dishes were the enchiladas blanco with mozzarella and queso cheese dip along with mild chorizo, the steak fajita quesadilla was another star dish. I would caution against the taco salad (bland) and the guacamole (odd color/texture and did not seem house made). The housemade cocktails- daiquiri, margaritas and tequila sunrise also missed the mark but the beer was ice cold and reasonably priced. Overall we had a fine experience and will return in the future!

Checked out Mi Zarape for the first time after driving past it for the last few years.... We started with the queso meat dip. It was pretty standard dipping sauce. For dinner we had the quesadilla which had the same meat as the dip. It was ok. Also had the enchiladas. Each had a different filling in them. Cheese and the chicken were the best.
