Going out to eat at a new place can be a tricky thing - you never know quite what you're going to get. I remember the time I tried a new steakhouse and ended up with a plate full of overpriced shoe leather. It was... an experience, to say the least. This time, I checked out the reviews first, and they were stellar about this place, so I decided to give it a try, and I'm happy to say that my experience at Backroads Burger and Bar in Plainfield was nothing like the steakhouse. In fact, it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time.

First of all, the ambiance was great. The restaurant had a comfortable, casual feel that made it the perfect spot for a casual dinner with family. The lighting was just right, and the décor had a country vibe without feeling like I was at a hoedown. On the wall, there were pictures with amusing phrases like "Maybe swearing will help." There were also booths and tables available, as well as a large wrap-around bar in the back for people to enjoy while watching a game on one of the many large-screen TVs. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in, and the friendly hostess sat my group of six in a cozy corner booth.

The service and food were excellent. Our server came to the table after we had a minute to look at the menu, and she was friendly and attentive throughout the meal without being intrusive. She made sure our drinks were always full and checked in on us just the right amount. She also made some great recommendations when it came to ordering. I ended up trying the bourbon barrel burger, which was absolutely delicious. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection, and the sweet and tangy bourbon glaze was the perfect addition to make an original-tasting burger. The fries tasted perfect, with a crispy outside and a soft and fluffy inside. Having the name of the place branded into the bun was a nice touch and brought home the ranch and country feel of the restaurant. Other menu items that were ordered by the people at the table were fish tacos, chicken tenders, and another burger (the Yellowstone), and there were zero complaints because everyone loved their food.

All in all, it was a great experience, and I would rate it 5 stars! The comfortable ambiance, great service, and delicious food all came together to make for a memorable meal. I'll definitely be back to Backroads Burger and Bar again in the future. If you're looking for a new spot to try, I highly recommend...

Old review: We always have a great experience. We love taking out of towners here. Everyone is always very impressed! They always want to come back to visit again...so I don't recommend bringing out of towners you prefer out of town.

BOTM was AMAZING!!! This Ain't Your Mama's Cookie Bake is a burger I have wanted to try FOREVER and my life is now complete (if you read the old review you will see whyl). It was WORTH THE WAIT! AMAZINGGGG

Old reviews: We just went back and the menu has changed. I was a littke bummed when I realized they no longer had the cookie dough burger, as that was what I was planning on getting. The burger of the month was Me So Corny and I went with that. Omg YUMMMMMMM!!! GREAT service once again! So glad we found this place!
