In a strip mall, Princeton Meadows Shopping center, on the corner end, there is a hidden gem called Bagel Street Grill. Upon walking in, you will note a photo of Guy Fieri from Food Network's show called "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. To be honest, I did not know who he was until I looked him up and had to agree with his assessment. This place has the best bagels, particularly, Cheddar jalapeno bagel, around. On my first visit, I ordered a Cheddar jalapeno bagel with egg and cheese as a sandwich. It was really good! The kick from the jalapeno perfectly complemented the freshly made egg and cheese sandwich.
I also brought a few Cheddar jalapeno bagels to carry home so that my family could enjoy them as well. It wasn't until I tasted this bagel alone, sans butter, or anything, that I could only say, "Hot dang, this is a great bagel!" Dare I say, their bagels rival the Brooklyn bagels I am used to. They are airy and light.
The place honors charge, cash, and their service is fast if you are short on time. Their coffee is okay but let's face it, they are known for their bagels. They offer various breakfast items such as pancakes, omelets, lunch items which include sandwiches, wraps, salads, and soups. Perfect for breakfast and lunch and they have available indoor and outdoor seating. Just be sure to get there before 2:00 pm because that is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlthough i'm originally from Brooklyn New York, where we have the best bagels in the world, I was very impressed with the quality of not only the bagels, but everything else about this spot.
I'm not a coffee drinker and I've lived here for four years. The other day I had a long drive to pick up merchandise with a friend and he picked up the coffee. I'd of preferred orange juice, but I got coffee. It was excellent. Not burnt or bitter like those Seattle based coffee shops that are on every corner.
I detracted one star solely on the basis that I usually get a cream cheese and lox bagel. The cost is ten dollars. I feel expensive, but worth it if done right. And they do it right. Or used to.
Kind of. The last several times I've ordered this meal, they put three slices of lox. I understand lox is expensive, but i'm sure they make an excellent profit with each sale. I'm not seeking for it to be loaded twdi inches high, but maybe enough lox where you get a taste in every bite.
Nothing worse than paying for something and getting ripped off. They should advertise that they only give X amount of product on high priced items, so the customer can choose to still order ot, or choose another meal.
Other than that, I highly recommend trying this spot. You will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBagel Street Grill had been a mainstay for me since 2005 when I moved here to this Hamlet call Plainsboro. Good food at reasonable prices but sadly that has all changed. Twice within the last month I stopped in for an egg sandwich and and some of their potato wedges. These last 2 times I have to be 100% honest and what used to be 2 eggs has now become 1. it barely covers the roll! I thought that maybe the first time was in error but today I asked for a western omelet on a kaiser roll but the person just couldn't get it and it took the manager to explain what I wanted. She took my order and was I surprised to find that they raised their prices and the items cost me $15.00 which I felt was about 50% more than it normally was and when I finally opened the foil I found a rather baron 1 egg sandwich which was more red pepper and onion a little ham or egg. More bread tan anything (not even a good roll) I was going to get back in the car and return to complain but I didn't. It did bother me enough to write this review though.
I'll still go in for a bagel now and then but NEVER for any sandwiches and I don't advise this place for much more than a bagel.
$15 bucks for a simple 1 egg sandwich and some...
