Rebel Dog Coffee Co. & Tavern PLAINVILLE — Restaurant in Plainville

I don’t ever leave reviews, but my experience was not a good one. I just want to start off by saying my mom and i had planned on doing errands after I had gotten out of work around 1pm, so before we did I was in desperate need for coffee so i did a quick starbucks run. After our errands we randomly decided to find a brunch place and we found Rebel Dog. We walked in and waited for 10 minutes for someone to seat us. We saw 3 or 4 workers see us and walk by us and we were just confused as to how the seating arrangement there worked. Finally, someone came up and she just told me that as soon as i finished with my starbucks she’ll show us to our table. I completely forgot I still had my drink in my hand, but i do understand that some establishments dont allow you to bring outside food in. So, I quickly chugged it and once again, me and my mom waited for another 10 minutes for the host/waitress to seat us—and the amount of times she saw us waiting for her and still walked by us. After waiting for another 5 minutes, we just decided to leave.

A couple weeks after that incident, I decided to give them one more try because maybe it was just a busy day or something that first time. I did online order pick-up and since it was my first time, I didn’t know they did online orders. I went to the cafe side and asked about it and they told me my order would be ready in about 5 minutes and to wait for someone to bring it out to me. I waited 15 minutes and nothing. Then i asked a barista if there was a pickup area cause maybe it’s there. She gave me a “um, are you dumb” type of attitude. She goes “It’s in the corner” and i didnt know what that meant so I asked if she could clarify. She points into the other room by the windows and said “over there”. I just thanked her and went to the windows…and didnt find my order. I was superrr fed up atp and after a few minutes an order was placed by the window area and i quickly checked it and finally I got my order.

This was my absolute worse experience with a restaurant. The rudeness and disrespect was crazy. I work in customer service and i know the stress that comes with it, so I always treat people with respect and nicely, so for that kind of attitude and response both...

First I want to start off and say we have been loyal customers of Rebel Dog. However, I am not sure if they have new staff or not but the mistakes and errors are out of control. My wife and I go here every Saturday. For the last three weeks our orders have been wrong 100% of the time. They just can’t get it right for some reason and it’s ashame because we really liked the place. However, they have lost us as customers forever and we will have to tell our friends who go there also. If anyone wants to message me privately I will show you photos of all our receipts, the food pictures and now the 6th card they gave us in three weeks for errors on food. The coffee is never an error but the kitchen is horrible.

Here is today’s mistakes just as an example:

Ordered: Bacon crispy, egg, cheese on hard roll cut in half. Received egg sandwich with no bacon, no cheese and not cut.

Sausage, egg medium, cheese on bread and received burnt egg and cheese with butter

Asked for napkins and received nothing.

It’s just one error after another and I gave them the chance to correct it but was told to wait another 20 minutes. Evidently someone names Harrison manages the place but we have been unsuccessful in receiving a call back...

The food was fine. It was cooked as well as can be expected nothing special but tastes good, well seasoned, and clearly cooked by someone who knows what they are doing at the very least. I work in a kitchen and I can recognize normal dime a dozen frozen French fries. That's fine no one cutes their own fires that's a waist of time. Potatoes and frozen bag fries are cheap for a kitchen. The amount of fries for a $75 order is insulting. I understand there is only so much that can be done to make a couple burgers special it's whatever I got what I ordered there fine. $75 is crazy but fine whatever benefit of the doubt things are expensive now and you got bills to pay whatever I get it I was hungry and high and within walking distance that's fine. I know how much fries are to a kitchen. Potatoes are cheap. This is insulting for the price. Filling a to go is the least someone could do but no these don't even fully cover the bottom of the to go container. Just rude by any standard. Good competent cooks are clearly working the kitchen, this is a pitiful amount of fries for...
