Zen Bar — Restaurant in Plainville

The bar has changed quite a bit. Some days its busy and other days it is not. On some days the karaoke is way too loud and you have to yell for others to hear you. This also could hurt your ears depending on the music. The host should be trained to change the volume.

Food is great quality almost always! Very yummy food that is tasty and usually not too greasy, wish they would bring back weekly specials though. No cooked meals on sunday though, only fried food so come on the other days to get better quality food.

Drinks are mixed and made well. On busy nights you may get a strong or weak drink depending on whats goin on if your server is rushing or doesnt know a drink you asked for. If you don't like something they are understanding and will make you a better one.

Overall a decent place that just needs some minor changes and maybe some more training/staff but they are very personal people who do their best to take care of...

My usual Monday night karaoke spot was cancelled, so I was referred to this spot. I was nervous at first because I was the ONLY person of color there. However, the bartender and cook made me feel welcome. I ordered the expresso 🍸 martini and steak & cheese quesadilla. The drink was good and not too strong but the quesadilla was BOMB! So good and he served it piping hot off the grill. I will be returning to try the sausage and pepper quesadilla next. Went for a date and it went great! We both loved the atmosphere of the bar. We enjoyed the lively mixed crowd of people. We enjoyed the sound system they have for the karaoke and their overall set up. Wish I could say more about the food, we only had a basket of large seasoned fries and they were exactly what you'd want when ordering seasoned fries, both crispy and well seasoned we had no problem finishing it between the two of us. Our tiquila sunrises came out great made by the friendly bartender with the visor.
