Strawberry Hut Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Plant City

Just last month I would have given a 5 star rating on every aspect. Until the 09/20/2023. I was sitting up at the strawberry hut at the picnic table that was off behind the others, in the grass, by itself. I was just sitting there, minding my own business when PCPD pulled up on me telling me they had received a call from the strawberry hut to have me trespassed for absolutely no reason other then I was sitting there. I had my dogs with me, who were both laying quietly not messing with anyone or anything, I wasn't pan handling, causing a scene, or even talking to anyone at all. But I was trespassed for 1 year, when the employees never even asked me to leave. Instead they called the police and had me trespassed. I spend money there every month, at least 1 time a month because that's all I can afford, but I love their food. And now I can't for the next year for literally absolutely no reason other than I'm homeless, and that particular day, I looked it because the day and night before had went thru hell. So Thank you to the employees at the Strawberry hut for judging me and trespassing me for no reason. It's not like I don't already deal with enough everywhere I go here in Plant city. What a way to say that you value your local customers and the business they bring you no matter how big or small

I didn''t have my belongings all over the place. I took maybe 1 bag off of my trailer to make it easier to get my injured dog off of my trailer. If my stuff would have been all over the table, the police officer who drove past me 10 times would have said something. He was just as confused as I was as to why I was being trespassed. So the fact is I was indeed trespassed for no reason without a single employee even asking me to leave or pickup my stuff if my 1 bag off of my trailer was too much. If they would have asked me to leave, I most definitely would have immediately just to avoid...

Well, today is a very sad day because you hate to report when the quality of a place is starting to go downhill. Today I had the 8-inch Philly cuban cheesesteak. Everyone who is born in America knows that a Philly cheesesteak sandwich should be busting out the seams of the bread with lots of meat. Almost to the point where you can make another sandwich out of it. That's what makes it a real sandwich. But unfortunately that's not what I received. The Philly cheese steak I had hardly had any meat on it! It was all bread. In fact it was nothing more than a bread sandwich. That is unacceptable!!!

Then to make matters worse I ordered a strawberry shortcake with extra ice cream. Instead they gave me extra whipped cream which is much cheaper than ice cream and tried to disguise the lack of ice cream that they gave me which is also unacceptable!!!

I cannot justify paying the prices that they are asking for when the food quality and portions are inferior to other restaurants. Either they need to get with and train their food preparer staff on what food quality and acceptable portion sizes are or they need to take a real hard look at their food offerings in order to provide good quality and value. Otherwise my friends and myself cannot support...

After driving by the crowded parking lot with people lined benches for the good part of a year, we decided today was the day to see what the hut has to offer.

The food is made to order with some items prepared ahead of time but not preassembled. We decided to get a classic Cuban pressed - the 13 year claim to fame. They use a mild garlic butter on the bread (with honey or original butters as options). The bread had a nice crunch but still maintained a softness which supported the meats and cheese. There was just enough condiments not to have drippage as you eat. [I personally like my press to scratch the roof of my mouth with the crunch.] We also got a salad which was plentifully, a milkshake made with fresh fruits which could have used a fatter straw, chips, soda and a Spanish bean soup. Overall, we liked it.

If you are on a time budget, I suggest you call in the order ahead of time. There was a reason the parking lot and benches were filled - it's made to order and those people are...
