Ella Cafe is an amazingly cozy coffee house for the hipster in you. If you're looking for some delicious coffee, scrumptious sides, and efficient (but busy) service, consider this venue.
As you enter you'll instantly notice the quaint yet bold atmosphere. I arrived around noon so naturally it was very busy but to be honest this seems like the kinda place that would be busy no matter the time of day. You can expect a few people in line ahead of you.
The menu is more visuals and less text, with an explanation of various coffees sketched in chalk. As you approach the register you can see the edibles behind the counter, which include muffins, cookies, croissants, etc. Don't see something you like? Try describing it to the cashier and they'll do their best to recommend something. They also explain all available additives such sugar, creme, milk, flavors etc. Prices are reasonable, I ordered coffee and two food items for about $13. If you're dining in house, they'll give you number to place on your table.
I ended up getting Cafe Con Leche, a plain crossaint and a chocolate muffin marshmallow hybrid. The food arrived within a few minutes. Everything is served on their own wooden cutting board, instead of the traditional plate. This makes for a very stylish presentation however an uncivilized eater like myself will easily make a mess with finger foods. For the record, they did provide utensils and I did use them (kinda). The food was great, items arrived warm and fresh. The coffee took longer to arrive and was served in a glass instead of the usual ceramic mug. The Cafe Con Leche was served hot but not steaming and was accompanied by a small spoon and heart shaped cookie. The coffee was less sweet than others I've had but still good.
Servers are quick to ask and clear away any platters from your table. Seating arrangements consist of many small tables scattered across the room, a lounge area with couches near the back and a few tables outside. This place is great for dining solo or with a few friends but may be problematic for larger groups. It may be tough to study here since it's very lively, loud and not a lot of room on the tables.
Overall this is a nice option for coffee, snacks and conversation. If you're a coffee lover, give...
Read moreI went looking for a little caffeine and some wifi and stumbled on this amazing, scrumptious, fantastic cafe!!
Walking in, you are greeted with lots of wood and coffee love. The feel is old cafe style and fun! The cafe is narrow and long, tables of all sizes line the walls.
There was a bit of a line and as I moved closer, I was given a glimpse of yummy pastries and muffins, even closer and I see fresh and yummy sandwiches and charcuterie boards. There were so many choices!!
I went with the "all day" board and a fizzy lemon drink! With the crowd, loud music it was challenging to hear and ask questions. I wasn't quite sure what I was ordering. I was ok with that!
I was handed a number and managed to find a table in the front. A few minutes later, my drink came and then my board. WHOA!! It was so yummy. Everything was perfectly placed and super scrumptious.
After working for a bit, they do have wifi and it was ok. It would occasionally flicker. This might have been since it was super busy.
I headed back to the counter and ordered a couple of lattes. One with whole milk and one soy. They were both the best lattes ever!! The vanilla is homemade. Everything is homemade. I loved the coffee so much, I brought home a bag.
The entire time I was there, the line went from long to super long. People came in and stayed or grabbed their coffee and went about their day! The staff hustled and hustled some more, delivering food and drinks or clearing tables, checking in with customers and all with a smile. Everything came out on a board with Ella in the corner and each coffee that stayed in got a little cookie. I even saw special hot chocolates go out with little cups of marshmallows.
I can't wait to visit this spot again, it was well worth the trip and I advise you if you are in the area, make it a...
Read moreWent on my lunch break from work with a new friend and tried this amazing French toast latte. Absolutely Loveeeee the design of the their logo. simplicity goes far for me Their French toast latte was soooo good! Coffee rate: 8/10 Aside from the coffee I would recommend one of their sandwiches. To be quite honest, I was a little disappointed with two things though. 1.Although their coffee and food was delicious, I have say there wasn't many options for food, just what they had presented on the front. Atleast that is was the female worker told me. when I asked the worker in the front where the menu was she just said it's what's in front of you, it was quite difficult to choose something to eat because of the fact that I didn't know much about the ingredients. I asked her about the ingredients of some of the sandwiches that were presented and she described them without a problem but the thing is that when I decided to search their menu on yelp I saw that they had a lot more options than what was presented and was a little bit bummed out that I wasn't told or offered those other options. I definitely would've tried other things but I've seen. She wasn't extremely helpful just kind of giving me the bare minimum of help, so if there is one thing that I would've changed about my whole experience would probably be someone a little bit more helpful.
I give them a 4 star because the food was good. What I would maybe recommend, a menu with ingredients and...
