Rating lowly due to a recent terrible experience with the park managers. We have been using the park's roller hockey rink since June almost every single day. Within the last 3-4 weeks there has been an issue with the roller hockey rink being used for non-skating activities, both at the same time, so those looking to skate are unable to use it. The managers allow these rinks to be paid for by groups for its use (groups which honestly have no reason at all not to use grass fields which make up the majority of the park), which is understandable as they need to pay for it, but are being very unreasonable by not negotiating to make sure that at least one of the rinks is open for public use at any time. Skating has been extremely popular and on most nights there are around 10 skaters using it, not as an organized group but just local residents who want to use the facilities that this park has to offer.
Skaters can not skate on grass. We are limited to where we can skate. Yet the managers of this park do not care about any of this, they do not care about giving tax payers access to...
Read moreI have enjoyed going to Plantation Central Park since I was a wee lad. I have countless memories of playing baseball, soccer and football over the years. The park is massive. Let me rephrase that last comment. The park is enormous. There are 2 olympic sized swimming pools with 3 diving boards. A full-sized basketball gym. Multiple tennis courts on one side of the park. They are 2 playgrounds for the children. The best part of the park is the walking trails. There are several and they span the entire property. There is a track and field area that's ok at best. It needs to be reconstructed to adapt to appear more modern. It's concrete and in my humble opinion they should add a rubberized coating to allow less pressure to be made on the feet when running or walking. On another note the fountain is beautiful and is normally lit during the evening. If you have the opportunity of visiting this place I suggest you do. You ll...
Read moreI like this place for walking and running. There are specific grounds that are for skaters . But recently the two hockey skate grounds are occupied by people doing boot camp and playing soccer. These are the only 2 grounds for skaters and those are being occupied by non skating activities.
I believe there is permit but one group and for the other group playing soccer the park managers had no information.
6 to 9 pm is a prime time for people like to go skate learn and have fun. But this is the time the park has given permits for non skaters on every day basis.
If the permit is given to non skaters, that should be given at non rush hours something before 4 or after 9 pm or be permitted couple of times a day .
I hope the park management see this and make changes to the policy so skaters can enjoy the skating rink for which...
