Over the Top Ice Cream — Restaurant in Pleasant Hill

If Black Cat Ice-cream isn't in the cards, Over the Top is a fantastic alternative! While their flavors might not be as wildly unique or change as frequently, the ones they offer are truly delightful. Plus, the staff are always friendly, and the prices feel fair.

My absolute favorite thing about Over the Top is the adorable free mini "top-hat" scoop of ice cream they add to every order. It's such a fun way to sample a new flavor each visit without sacrificing your go-to choice. It also lets you get creative and see how different flavors might pair together! Definitely worth a visit for a safe, tasty and enjoyable ice cream experience that is consistent.

If I had to offer any feedback I'd like to see them get a little more creative and unique with their offerings instead of playing it safe. More crazy flavours and more frequent flavour swaps would be cool. I want to see flavours that make me to (wtf! That's weird, I need to try that!).

And to be honest also, I wouldn't mind if they were just a tad more generous with their scoops. My last visit they weighed our scoops before serving which is not a big deal generally but customers shouldn't see that at...

Saturday afternoon. To get to this place, I drive about 30 miles from the west part of town. This experience was before covid19, I asked for a few quarts of ice cream and I also wanted to have a waffle cone with ice cream to eat at the moment so, I asked to taste a couple of ice cream flavors, the 'guy' barely really barely gets something in the little tiny plastic spoon of ice cream for me to taste. After I chose the ice cream flavor, he serves into the the wafle cone a poor amount of ice cream. There is something wrong with this picture! Is it worth to drive 60 miles round trip to get ice cream, try to enjoy the whole experience and be poorly treated ? NO I was still nice enough to even leave a tip. I am not coming back ! Yeah, reviews for the place are highly scored. Ice cream is good not amazing. All in all, there is room for improvement, hopefully in the future and after covid19, 'over the top' is going to be able to offer good service and...

Wife wanted to go here because of their shake from the state fair. Very nice building, homey feeling, nice outside seating. The ice cream was great but, a bit chaotic behind the counter. Too many people trying to help at the counter that I got asked if I paid 3 times. So, that part of the business could use a spruce over and some organizational strategy and guidence. Otherwise, like I said the ice cream was great and for sure not going to kick down stars because of too many people trying to do their job. But, I would say, have 1 person run the register, have 2 scooping ice cream, a few making the shakes, and then rotate around every 30 mins or something. Some people might get upset over the chaos but it is what it is when it was a bunch...
