This non-descript little restaurant continues to delight us with delicious food, sweet and sincere servers, a committed and talented owner and fun specials here and there. Iâd found their fan page on Facebook and joined. Thatâs where I saw the owner Dan had concocted a couple special hamburgers to spur the Chiefs on to a Super Bowl victory. He is advertising his âMahomes burgerâ and a âSuper Bowl Burgerâ.
With a name like âSuper Bowl Burgerâ it better be something special, right? It did not disappoint! Two grilled beef patties with jack and cheddar cheese, bbq grilled rib meat, shaved brisket, grilled onions, BBQ sauce and Danâs special âMahomeâs ketchupâ. Both are limited specials being offered until the Super Bowl. I could only eat a fourth of it, but it was flavorful! I had to save room to try another one of their 20+ ice cream flavors. Last night it was a scoop of birthday cake ice cream over a warm brownie. So good!
Should one order the âMahomeâs burgerâ they will get a burger topped with shaved prime rib, grilled onions, jack cheese, an onion ring, bbq sauce, lettuce, tomato and horseradish sauce. Side item on both burgers is fries and, naturallyâŚ. Ketchup! Gotta be some kind of a special that can be done with their amazing prime rib for Andy Reid, right??? Seriously, the members of the Chiefs team need to visit this little place and show them some love! They wonât regret it!
My boyfriend couldnât resist the seasoned ribeye (again) and our friend tried their baby back ribs. Both were excellent.
Last night was especially fun as we got to see the kids from the cooking class Dan teaches going back and forth with their dishes to the kitchen. Kids with purple aprons, big smiles and clearly on a mission â love this endeavor!
This place is a find folks! You will get excellent food, reasonably priced served by a friendly team of servers all in a place that is an active and committed...
Read moreTop notch service. Waitress was awesome and always checking on the party and the bartender was attentive, funny and made sure the drinks were on point. I had no idea this place existed and surprised it wasn't packed. The prime rib fries were hot and loaded with cheese, sweet bbq sauce and prime rib. Big portion appetizer that the whole table could share. The Western Burger had 2 mini onion rings, tomato, lettuce, BBQ sauce upon a burger. The burger was thick, not dry and the sauce gave it the right amount of kick. The side salad was bigger than expected and they didn't skimp on the croutons. I've been to plenty of places that will give you 3, however this salad had about 8 pieces and enough salad dressing that you didn't need to ask for more. My son ordered the prime rib and it was one serious prime rib. It was huge. Enough for 2 people to to eat or take some home. He said every bite had seasoning and not dried out. Perfectly cooked. The baked potato was fully loaded and packed to the rim. I only managed to take a pic of the prime rib. The chocolate martini was delicious. Equal balance of vodka, Kahlua and chocolate. The flirtini had champagne, vodka and pineapple juice. You could definitely taste the champagne with slight hints of the vodka and pineapple juice. Better than I expected. Lastly, I got a Moscow mule and it was on par. I have had plenty made with to much ginger beer and it kills the whole drink, however that didn't happen tonight and I was happy. Before we left, we stopped at the creamy part and got the black cherry and garbage bin ice cream. The black berry had lots of cherries in it and the garage bin had huge chunks of the candy bar pieces in it. The only part I didn't like was the white chocolate coating on the cone. It was extra rich and I should have went with the regular...
Read moreWe came in on a Saturday at 5:30 p.m. with 5 adults and 2 kids. It took an hour and a half to get our food and it arrived cold. In all that time, we were never offered refills on water, never given silverware, or given any indication of how long we should expect to wait. When the kids meal was served, the server never returned to offer any condiments or asked if we needed anything else. By the time we did get food, we had to ask for silverware to be able to eat. The spinach dip was a tiny cup and tasted store bought. The salsa was Pace. The mashed potatoes tasted like boxed mashed potatoes. And the bacon on the BLT wasnât done. The kids were melting down and we didnât have any time to wait for anything to be reheated. So the adults ate cold food as fast as we could and then tried to track down a server to pay. On top of all that, there were about 10 flavors of Tillamook ice cream (not the 24 advertised on the website), the toilet didnât seem to flush, and there was no soap in the bathroom. While we waited, we saw other people get up and leave. We waited so long for dinner we had to walk the kids around outside, where we discovered it seems like they cook everything on a small patio out the back of the restaurant. On reading more of the negative reviews after leaving, it seems clear these all are persistent problems. We absolutely wonât be back, and I expect many others there tonight...
