Lew's at Pleasanton Country Club — Restaurant in Pleasanton

On Thursday, 01/19/2022, my husband and I went to Lew's for dinner at the suggestion of many of our friends. We love trying new restaurants as we have worked in the food industry for many years and price is never an issue. We arrived and were not greeted for several minutes and, when we were finally greeted, we were told to "just sit anywhere." After waiting for some time, our waitress, the same one who told us to sit anywhere, finally came over with menus and asked if she could get us something to drink. When we asked what beer was on tap, it seemed to be a bother to actually provide that information, almost like she could not get away from the table fast enough. She delivered our drinks, did not even ask if we wanted or provide us with any water, and that was the last time we saw her, except when I had to get up and go find her to ask for the check and a box for my food. We had to stop a busboy to ask him to get our server and the bartender came to our table rather than the server. As for the food, sadly, while the concepts were great and the portions were amazing for the price; the execution was lacking. The food was bland, devoid of spices. My husband's meal was supposed to be "Cajun" and just tasted like a white wine butter sauce. I had the chicken parmesan and the sauce had absolutely no flavor. We both added salads to our meal and even those were lacking in flavor and the tomatoes were mealy and dry. Unfortunately, we will not...

We just moved to Pleasanton in January and had an amazing first experience here. Since then the last two visits barely warrant to two stars and they are strictly for the restaurant presentation alone. Staff seem very unprofessional sitting in plain sight on their cell phones at times two or more at the same table. Any sodas served are either overly carbonated or they are using tap water for their system. My wife had the ribeye which was cooked well done. Fat was still rubbery on edges but seasoned well. I had the Lew’s Supreme Pizza which came out under cooked as the crust was doughy 2” from the edge and topping in the middle were cold. Drink refills were offered however never received. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert and witnessed the waitress roll her eyes as she walked away. Where do I begin....started ok got seated and drinks brought to the table. Then ordered and sat to wait and watch people that had been seated after my family get their food eat and leave before our food came to the table. My sons food was out first. The first sign I knew things were going bad in the kitchen. Then they served my plate with out serving my wife and the order was wrong was sent back to fix and brought out before my wife’s plate. The squash and zucchini weren’t cooked easiest veggies to cook not only that but not seasoned along with green beans chicken was over cooked on one side and dry. Then they served my wife’s grilled shrimp burned on one side. Our waitress didn’t get our appetizers to the table or refill the drinks done by other waitresses there.
