ZERO STARS! I stopped by the drive through on my way home from the lake because I love Zips.
I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with no tomato. Waited in line for 20 minutes before reaching the window to pay (2 cars ahead of me). When I got to the window, I smiled and said a friendly “hello” to the young lady, who looked at me like I was from outer space. I thought that maybe since it was such a long wait, they were having a bad day so I decided to be cheerful. I guess that didn’t work….
Since she didn’t respond to my greeting, I handed her some cash. Without a word, she turned around and then turns back and said, “what did you order?”. I said a bacon cheeseburger, and she said “oh, a bacon burger” turned her back on me again, then came back and handed me change without saying anything, again, and shut the window.
I waited another 5 minutes or so and she finally appeared with my order. I asked for some tartar sauce (she didn’t offer any condiments). While she turned to get those items for me I checked to make sure there was no tomato on my burger. While I was looking in the wrapper, she tossed the tartar sauce into the bag. Seriously, just threw it from the window into the bag I had placed on my lap. Lo and behold, there was a tomato on the burger and I handed it back to her and apologetically said, I’m sorry, I asked for no tomato. She took the burger, pulled the tomato off and handed it back to me. I explained to her that I’m allergic to tomatoes and that you can’t just take it off. She apologized, and said she would make another one. About two minutes later, a boy came to the window and told me that if I wanted another burger, I would have to pay for it. I asked if he was kidding and he said “you never said how you wanted it so you have to pay for another burger if you want one without tomato”. “I specifically asked for no tomato. I’m not paying for another one, just forget it, I want my money back” and I reached to give him the bag with my fries. He said I can’t do that. You’ll have to call Sara. I said I don’t know who Sara is, and I just want my money back. He shut the window on me, turned away, then turned back, opened the window and said, “uh, I guess they made another one for you”, and handed it to me.
At this point, I was afraid to eat it because I’m pretty sure they probably spit in it. So I paid $15 for french fries and a root beer.
I will never return to the Plummer Zips...
Read moreAs a chain, I like Zips, but this is the worst fast food experience I've ever had. First off, the restaurant was disgusting. Food on the floor, spilled condiments all over the counter, and you could tell some of what had been spilled had been there for hours as it had hardened up and grown tacky. Teenage manager seemed more interested in chatting it up with two rowdy teen boys than actually doing her job or cleaning anything (though she did abandon them to take my order and brought me my food fairly quickly).
Watched an older gentleman exit the men's bathroom and tell another teenage worker that the light was out in the bathroom, and she just shrugged. Food came and was was gross. Ham on the burger looked like it was a couple hours away from being "off" and the burger itself was a gray disgusting slab. Fries weren't cooked thoroughly and hardly seasoned. First time I failed to finish my meal at a Zips.
Was certain I was going to get food poisoning from the little I ate. Then I come here to read reviews and see someone else did actually get food poisoning just a month before my visit!
This place needs an inspection, and probably should be closed. Whoever the adult franchise manager is for this location, they seem to have abandoned their responsibility to a bunch of incapable teens who just want a place to hangout.
tl;dr - Unclean restaurant, disgusting food, unmotivated workers. Don't eat here, you'll...
Read moreI'D THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING TO THE PLUMMER LOCATION! I was hoping an email stating my concerns would work, but nobody got back to me.. So, I assume nothing was done about it. Back in June, I stopped in for a QUICK bite at the drive thru.. waited over HALF AN HOUR IN THE DRIVE THRU. I got to the window and realized they were severely understaffed, okay, no biggie. Been there, done that. I understand. HOWEVER, the young man comes to the window, apologizes that they accidentally gave my order to another customer. (I thought he was telling me they had to remake it) no,no... He walks out the back door, grabs it from the car behind me,comes back in,and hands it to me?!? I just stared at him... Then, so I didn't hold up the line even longer,I pulled forward and went inside. Where the same young man greets me with "do you have a messed up order too?" Umm, not exactly, you just gave me my order that has been in someone else's possession. "Umm.... okay...?" Umm... okay... That's very unsanitary to say the least. Can you please remake it? He had no problem with it,but the little gal cooking that day... You would've thought I asked her for her first unborn child! Pretty sure she "remade" the same food... So, that experience ruined me on all Zip's...
