Went here today for the first time with my parents. I’m not sure why so many people are commenting how friendly the staff is but that was not our experience. We walked in through the back which was pretty treacherous if you have any mobility issues. When we got into the restaurant, there were two empty tables. We were trying to figure out if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We were pretty much ignored until we able to get someone’s attention and ask what we should do.
We sat down and were waiting for table service. After waiting for a decent amount of time, we questioned if there was table service or if we needed to order at the counter. Staff asked if it was our first time there to which we responded yes. We were told that the person would be waiting in us was on the phone and would be right with us. She motioned towards a young girl behind the counter who was talking in her cell phone.
When she finished her call, she came to the table. I wanted to ask her if she recently lost a favorite pet or her best friend because she seemed rather depressed and made us feel like we were a bother.
In short, there was only one woman who worked there who indicated any sort of contentment that we were there. We did not see our server or anyone of the people making food smile or engage pleasantly with each other or us. The atmosphere felt tense and depressing. We also got to witness the delivery driver have an argument with our server about the address of one of their deliveries. Good times.
The food was ok. It took quite a long time which they explain on their menu, so at least we were prepared. There was nothing about the food, however, that would make me want to go sit in that funeral home again.
I hope you all work it out. After only being in business for five months it would seem you would want to create an atmosphere that would support your new business. Best of...
Read moreTonight we dined At Gio’s Cafe and left so full and satisfied! We started with garlic knots (not GF), then had a gluten-free Hawaiian pizza (the garlic-seasoned cauliflower crust was delicious) and a slice of buffalo chicken pizza—both absolutely delicious. I love that you can still order pizza by the slice here! For dessert, my wife had the cheesecake, and we sampled the Oreo balls and baklava—all tasted amazing. I finished with the tres leches cake topped with imported caramel sauce—definitely worth the food coma. The owner and his wife were wonderful hosts, and the environment was clean and modern. Can’t wait to come back!
( sorry for rushing to eat that tres-leches before getting a picture…could not resist...
Read moreJust fantastic! The staff is friendly even during a dinner rush, the interior of the resturant is warm welcoming and elegant! Me and my wife ordered the Loca taco pizza and it was delicious, the crust toppings and the amount of beef were perfectly balanced and incredibly tasty. They have an amazing indoor seating area and an expansive outdoor dining area right behind the restaurant that weather permitting would be awesome for party's and events! Parking is a breeze as well, there is a parking lot right behind the restaurant. This is a true gem to have in our town and I can't wait to sample more of the menu...
