Valentineās Day Dinner 2025 @ The Bistro at Mirbeu Our Experience ā Round 2 The last time we had been to The Bistro was Valentineās Day three years ago. The food was dry and overcooked (especially the chicken under a brick), so the experience left a bad taste in our mouth. We decided to give it another try this year as we thought it might have been a once off bad performance the first visit. Have to say The Bistro topped it off this time with another set menu debacle. We each ordered Raw Oysterās which came on a slate with no side rims. The oyster juiceās rolled off the slate and ran across table almost onto our laps. Our waitress was overwhelmed and service was somewhat slow, so took a while to get her to wipe table down. Next came the main course, a steak & butternut squash risotto. I asked for the steak to be pink through, not well done. Steak came out like a burnt hockey puck and must have been sitting on grill for a long time as they had a set menu. The butternut squash risotto was thick & creamy with chunks of something that tasted like garlic. I had a bite and it was inedible. We expressed to the waitress that our food was unsatisfactory. She told us she was sorry that we didnāt like the food. We were expecting her to address the situation but realized she didnāt understand the issue. While having our desert, which was delicious ā the Chef came firing out of the kitchen with a check in his hand and confronted 2 guests who were dissatisfied with their meal and didnāt want to pay. It was so shocking to see the a very animated chef in the lobby right in front of the restaurant customers making a scene. We could clearly hear the chef yell āI have cooked 40 steaks tonight and not one person has complainedā Amazing display of audacity! Next our waitress came by with our check and threw it across our table with a look of anger. Did NOT address us or thank us and stormed away. We took the high road and tipped 20% anyway. Understanding that our server was young and needs to learn how to act professionally in representing a restaurant that considers itself a resort & spa as well. At that point we decided that we would not say anything to the manager on duty and I would call the following Monday to express my displeasure with our meal. On Monday, Feb 17th, I called and spoke to a restaurant manager (who wasnāt on duty Feb 14th). After giving her the exact description of our dinner as described above: she replied that she was āSorry we didnāt have a good experience, and would pass it on to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was so disappointed in our trip to mirabeau. My new husband and I were married there last year and after a LONG year decided to splurge on a Motherās Day weekend with my mom there. We had a lovely meal, spa service and enjoyed the beautiful room and balcony. However I had the tuna for dinner (the only thing I ate out in three days and the only meal item my mom and I did not split- she was fine) and became violently ill from it. I had to go to the Er in the morning at the recommendation of my husband who is a dr due to my severe symptoms and it was confirmed food poisoning. The restaurant manager had no interest in entertaining responsibility when my mother called to report just in case we could avoid anyone else becoming sick. We were unable to enjoy the other amenities in our package and When I reached out to the front desk I received no response. This is such a nice hotel and experience and after our wedding and now this packaged over night stay we have invested quite a bit of money while experiencing very poor customer service and a hospital visit because of it!! I will be reporting the event to the food department and hopefully saving anyone else from this experience, never would expect any type of food issues at such a nice restaurant!! So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went for my wife's Birthday. We sat at the bar for a drink and was served by Corey. Corey is very professional and friendly. He makes great drinks !. We sat and our server was Kayla. Kayla was great. Personality plus. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and pairing. I started with French onion soup. To be honest, I was disappointed. The soup was hot, but very bland. I would expect more from a French Bistro. I gave it a 5 out of 10. My wife started with the tomato bisque. She really like it. My main course was the lobster ravioli. This dish was phenomenal. 10 out of 10 for sure. My wife got the Filet Mignon and ordered it medium. It was a good cut of meat, but was served well done. I feel for the $68 price, it should be cooked they way you order it. Desserts were very good. Fresh and delicious ! Add a Cappuccino and dessert wine and all is good. My overall evaluation was an 8 out of 10. I will go back and do...
