Very disappointed in our dining experience tonite at East Bay grille in the Pinehills. We were seated outside after being greeted with "Let me check to make sure the table &chairs aren't all wet" ,it pouring rain out,we asked if we could be moved inside and was told "No".,we checked out our table it appeared to be dry and under cover, we sat down, there were 7 adults, 2 of our party (9)canceled, our waitress then said sge needed to break apart our table and we would have squeeze around 1 table instead of 2 since we were no longer a party of 9.Then the rain became heavier we physically had to move our table further back under cover..My son also helped another elderly gentleman who was completely soaked from the rain move his table as well. An order of clam chowder was questionable it had a sour taste, when it brought up to the waitress ,instead of just removing it without "challenging "the customer with a bit of an attitude "Why whats wrong with it,!". Once our meals were dropped off and the first "How is everything?",We didn't see a senior manager circulating checking on any of the diners to see how their meals, dining, overall experience was ,. This was not an inexpensive dinner out ,this was a birthday dinner and a dinner bill well over 400 dollars. We chose this venue because of past experiences and enjoyed our previous times.I recently hosted a rehearsal dinner last year and was more than pleased with the overall quality and performance of staff.East Bay Grille @the Pinehills was subpar tonite and I will be following up this review with a phone call to the manager to discuss my disappointment. Did I ask to speak to a manager at the time,,Yes I did on my way out,but I was told unavailable at this time due to attention needed at a function that was ongoing...
Read moreWe decided to give this restaurant another try. Our first experience was fair at best. So today we took our friends over to the Eastbay Grille at Pinehills. When we arrived at around 4:30pm for an early dinner. The Hostess asked if we had a reservation. I replied âNo we donât, do we need one?â The restaurant had approximately 3 tables with patrons and 1 table with a âreservedâ sign on it. The hostess never acknowledged my question and seated us at a table for 4. There was a wedding scheduled for tonight. The wedding guests came into the restaurant and literally surrounded the entire back and side of our table. The doors were opened to the outdoor porch and it was quite chilly. Our waitress was very nice and apologetic however when you are spending $60 for a couple of burgers and no alcoholic beverages I expected to be able to eat and enjoy my dinner and guests and not try to talk over the wedding guests. The Eastbay Grille really needs to address this problem. I get weddings are a big money maker but in fairness to the wedding guests and to your patrons you may want to consider figuring out a better way to serve the wedding guests before the wedding. Maybe you should open the restaurant later on those nights. It was a horrible experience. We will never go back - and I am sure that the Eastbay Grille could care less but be aware that weddings are there on Friday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday. ...
Read moreHad a decently enjoyable experience at East Bay Grille. We sat outside and the acoustics made it really hard to hear anyone during the busy time. There were mosquitos all over, so please beware if you are sensitive to bugs to stay inside. The view is pretty and you can see the sunset though which is nice!
Our server really did not give us any time of day. She was terse and not very amicable, clearly wanting us to get our meal done with as fast as we could. We felt somewhat rushed which impacted our experience.
The food itself was pretty good, which made up for the buggy outdoor patio seating and the mediocre service. The steak tips were yummy and itâs convenient you can order a side of protein for cheaper! The rice pilaf was delicious and well spiced and the salmon was divine! The sauce was very well prepared with the perfect tanginess! The coconut shrimp were perfectly breaded, but definitely on the quite sweet side! The cod was a bit bland and the nachos could have had more cheese evenly spread about it, although we appreciated the generous size of the dish.
Overall, was not impressed by the service and the indoor atmosphere was giving âsports barâ with luxury $30+ per entree price, but the food made up for it. Not sure if...
