Wicked Good Bakery — Restaurant in Plymouth

I was 50/50 on writing a review because I’m embarrassed but I just wanted to write something in case someone else sees it and it helps them. So I had put a 25.00 deposit for my wedding cake which is a year from now. I decided on this bakery because it was affordable and there were zero negative reviews so I thought I would be fine. Well my fiancé and I went on Thursday and we got 6 cupcakes to taste test so we know what flavor we’d want for our wedding, we spent 21.00. Now we go home and I have an incredibly bad reaction to them, I’m not sure what it was but my throat was in severe pain from eating the cupcakes up until the next day. I am still in pain. So I email the owner asking for a refund, not for the 21.00 but for the 25.00 I put down for my wedding cake because I 100% cannot eat that. And she said no. Now I know 25.00 is not a lot of money to other people but we are having a very cheap wedding because we are poor and the only thing I had my heart set on was a pretty small wedding cake. So I was very disappointed when she said no, I could’ve asked for a refund for the 21.00 we spent in the store that day but I didn’t. She was very nice in the store but I’m just very upset over this. We didn’t really enjoy the cupcakes either, we thought the 6 cupcakes we got, only one was really good and the others were not great, especially the red velvet cupcake. I don’t know if she will delete this review or maybe she’ll see this and have a change of heart and refund the 21.00 or the 25.00, I don’t know, I know most people don’t have luck with refunds but I thought I could vent to someone. Thank you for your time. I don’t really understand why you can’t just make a one time exception to refund whether it’s the 21.00 or the 25.00, I’m not trying to be annoying but can you not just press a button on the computer...

I cannot believe that I've been visiting Sarah and Jean for years now and neglected to write a full review. Well, for anyone not part of the cult of Wicked Good, jjjoooiiinnn uuusss... Seriously, literally everything is amazing! We generally visit early on Saturdays for doughnuts (I am ruined for Boston creams and French crullers anywhere else), but the pies (berry, apple, and cream especially) are unsurpassed, and I'm only allowed to order the occasional cake because the buttercream frosting makes it such that my wife and I alone could pick the plate clean in under 24 hours. We had Wicked Good Bakery provide the desserts for our September 2024 wedding and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! We did a small cake to cut, and other mini desserts like cupcakes, whoopie pies, and cookies! The cookie dough cupcakes are AMAZING! We even did the cookie dough flavor for our wedding cake. Working with Sarah at Wicked Good Bakery was so seamless. She always was available to answer all of my questions and is so sweet! The set up on our wedding day was exactly how I pictured it and Sarah guided me along the way.
