Owner Alfredo is funny, & enjoys bantering with his customers. He makes you feel like you're an old friends & jokes with you. He is an amazing cook. The food is amazing & has the comfort food feeling almost like mom's cooking. Sorry nothing compares to Mom's cooking but Alfredo is a close second. The Tacos are the Best around they are filled with meat, not just a small teaspoon amount like other places or even the Taco man puts a little bit, but not Maria's Tacos, filled to the top & so yummy. Don't even get me started on the Tamales, my favorite is the Elote Tamale & the Cheese tamale, those two are yummy. The pork & chicken are good too but I'm an Elote fan. The Cheese ones are perfection. Now the Pan Dulce there is the Best, baked daily & the Conchas are good as are the Piggy's & cookies, you have so many options. I can go on & on, but go try it out & tell him Elena sent you!!! I have gone practically every week & I bring friends & family each time. When I don't have time to cook dinner my kids tell me to get tacos & quesadillas from Maria's & even they tell me to say hi to Alfredo. Ohh the BEST part is everything is priced reasonable whereas other places raise the prices crazy...at Maria's it's still affordable to feed a family of 4 & get your monies worth. There's plenty more positive to say, But the only negative is (which really isn't a negative it is just my opinion) is they need to play some music, it's a large dining area but I really don't want to hear others conversations, light music would deflect that, that's really only a small negative. That's the only reason why I gave the category of aspmophere a 3 star. Everything else...
Read moreMaria’s Tacos was definitely a last min decision, I’ve been craving a good breakfast burrito! Walking in, I was a bit taken back at how slow it was but it was a Monday around 10am. I missed the breakfast rush and I made it before lunch, that’s the best time…. Weird off times so the Chef is more attentive towards your needs! The place is uniquely interesting it’s a half restaurant and a half panaderia. Usually, they are separate entities. Other places where they are combined are mostly at huge hispanic, Latin American grocery stores such as; Vallarta or Cardenas.
Ordered the pork tamale and a machaca burrito. The pork tamale was plain but the salsa is what saved it, the salsa brought the umph, the pow pow, the delicioso to the dish! The machaca burrito is a must get, the portion was huge definitely enough for 2! The prices were absolutely reasonable, now that I think about it…… this place is a...
Read moreMy experiences have been pretty good with this restaurant, and because of what happened today I don't wanna cut my stars so I'm just leaving my message to the chef. I know you have regular customers and they are important for you and for your business. But, it was quite disappointing to see 3 people who came after me got their foods before me.. one of them even ordered a group order. I love your food and the bakeries too, but it was a little disappointing, hopefully other people don't have same experience as I had. In addition, there is only one chef so I was aware and I didn't get mad but disappointed, and wanted to leave some message to him. So it doesn't happen to the...
