Just stopped in there for a quick snack and this place was on point! Planned on just getting a quick Cafe con Leche and Cuban toast but the smell in there, was so good, I couldn’t resist trying my luck with a Cuban sandwich. Boy was I happy I did!! First off when I ordered my sandwich I was kindly asked if I wanted it with the real pork/ lechón (get it this way) or with the processed sliced pork ham, I said yes PLEASE! Definitely the Lechón!!! And it was amazing!!! Since I sadly no longer live in FLA when I visit I’m always trying to eat Cuban food and sandwiches are my favorite. Last time I visited, I drove in traffic under pouring rain about 2 hours down south to Sw 8 st to try a place that had been on TV, that sort of had a rep for the “Best Sanguiches”. And on this trip, a few days ago I went to La Esquina del Lechón, so I’ve done my own sanguiche research. But unfortunately, I was disappointed by both those places. This unassuming little place however, is an entire different thing. This was by far one of the BEST CUBAN SANDWICHES I’ve ever had!! The fresh pork was delicious and tasty. The bread was perfect, the sandwich had the right amount of condiments and it was nice and hot, prepared fresh, right before my eyes. Pure heaven!! I did also take the Cuban toast, which was also perfectly made, along with the Cafe con Leche I had originally came to get. The coffee was also perfect with the right amount of cafe to milk to sugar ratio. And they wrapped my to go order nicely and took extra care to plastic wrap the cafe cups, so it wouldn’t spill when I drove off. It’s funny how this little place can manage to beat out in flavor and in service the 2 places, that I previously went to, that are supposed to be well known for special sandwiches. It’s good to know the little places in the neighborhoods are still thriving and making customers such good food that will definitely keep me coming back whenever...
Read moreRidiculous experience! Need training in keeping customers, keeping the customer is easier than getting new ones....you would think. Pompano has limited lunch spot so we settle for this mediocre cuban spot, until now. Ordered our food, delivery guy bought our food and another order, left them both. We left the order on the desk, assuming someone will be back to pick it up. Not a phone call til 2 pm, from the delivery guy - threatening us if food is not there, we better have his money. He called the following day, 11AM - saying he's coming by to pick up the food. Called the Restaurant, spoke to a Juan, this guy Juan actually agreed with the delivery guys behavior - harass your customer for some old food since you left it there and never returned to pick it up. Foods on the desk where he left it. Juan's excuse - its 17 dollars - for a sandwich and coffee. Juan -you lost a regular customer, 3 dollars in lost product, all for old food left by your delivery guy. Do the math - was it worth the 3 dollars it cost your bottom line. Learn to run a business before you're out of business. Dont harass your customer for your business mistakes. And please do treat your employees better. He made an honest mistake, you that greedy to charge him the full "customer price"...
Read moreOur company employees have been buying food from here since 2011 and never any problem until yesterday. Their delivery guy dropped off extra food and drinks around 9am.
Around 2pm, he called saying I gave you an extra sandwich and two drinks and I'm coming to get the $17 for it. EXCUSE ME?
The employee that placed the order told him that the food is still sitting here and he is more than welcome to come pick it up but no one ever shows up.
This morning the guy calls again about the food and we told him that the food is still sitting out here for him to come pick up. So the guy just shows up here and gets aggressive with two other employees because he felt disrespected that the old food was left outside on the floor by the front door and then demands that someone pay him for a juice that spilled and was discarded.
He realized he wasn't getting anything from us so he exits our building and threw the drink and food at our office door and leaves. Are you serious? All this chaos over less than $5 cost of food and packaging material?
Juan, your guy wasted more time and money driving back over here and almost had the police called on him. This is how he represented...
