R & K Country Soul Food — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

My wife , son and I traveled to Florida just to get away from Philly. During our travels we love to venture to the local soul food restaurants in the town that we are in….. we’ll let us tell you, this restaurant is at the very top of our list!!!

We were greeted by GREAT southern hospitality by the daughter of the owner who waited on us. She treated us like family coming to the breakfast table. The FOOD!!!??? OMG….. DEEEEEEEEELICIOUS!!!! I thought the ladies in the kitchen were my grandmom and great grandmother. My wife had The chicken and waffles 🧇 and she said that it was the best ever. I had the Liver and onions on grits…. MY MY MY….. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. We went back to R& K the very next morning. Our only regret is that we didn’t get the name of our newest family member / waitress / hostess or the cooks.

Ok, we found this place on Google while visiting from out of town. When I called to confirm that they were open, "Mrs. Ruth" answered the phone and immediately she sounded like "Grandma". You could tell through the phone that this Lady was the truth. Sure enough, our group of 6 got there and the rest is history. The food is BONKERS. Like beyond delicious. We traveled from Maryland and spent a few days in the Pompano Beach area before continuing our vacation. After a few days in the area we become a little desperate for some soul food. We decided to check out R & K after reading some great reviews about the food and service. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere is definitely warm, cozy, super friendly!
