After staying at a nearby hotel for several days, we decided to give this establishment a try. It looks like a dive bar, but they advertise delicious food. A woman named Cindy served us on a Saturday morning in July - yesterday, in fact - and unfortunately it took an hour and fifty minutes to receive our undercooked pancakes and overcooked corned beef hash. I thought after such a long wait at least the food would be good! I called the restaurant and spoke to the same server who helped us, and she told me if I was looking for a refund due to the overall bad experience, to please call back the next day and speak to the owner. I did just that, and I reached Cindy again, who was more annoyed this time, and told me the owner would likely not call me back, and would let likely not refund me. I explained to her that I was looking to communicate with the owner off the record, as I do not like to leave negative reviews. This did not phase her one bit, she got more snippy. These are definitely not the customer service skills I'm sure she was hired for. [Edit: LOL, yes, they were.] I was avoiding leaving this review, but you need to know that if you want to come here for breakfast, set out over 2 hours of your time and prepared to pay double price for what the food is worth. Not something anybody wants to do when they are 150 yards from the beach.
Edit: I called today and spoke to the owner. In a very grumpy voice he interrupted me rudely and told me I was basically an idiot for waiting so long, he told me that he would have gotten up an hour into the wait, and that I should not have eaten or paid for my food instead of quietly waiting, paying for it and then asking for a refund later. The problem is the food was Terrible on top of the wait, which we only found out after we finally got it. Also I have certain rules that I operate by in society, and sticking through ordering food from a server and then paying for the meal are two of those rules I try to follow. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. He doesn't count on repeat customers. In hindsight, I should have gotten up and just found another restaurant to eat at or cooked my own food. I did expect the food to at least be decent after that long wait. Some of it was overcooked and cold, and some of it was just undercooked. The dining room is not big enough for the kitchen to be that slammed. It is clearly lack of cooking ability and lack of intelligence in that kitchen, begining with the lack of leadership. This restaurant owner is taking advantage of its customers by being surrounded by vacation resorts - a fleeting customer base. No locals attend unless they are...
Read moreI work at a hotel across the street from this restaurant and have eaten here twice. One time I got a lunch special which includes 2 slices and a drink, I got it with pepperoni and ground beef. Today I attempted to order the lunch special the same way as I did before yet the male pizza worker/cashier (caucasian, gray hair and glasses) appeared to be irritated by the presence of a paying customer and slammed the pizza on the counter, proceeded to slam every refrigerator door and container as he put the ingredients on the pizza and threw it in the oven. I tried to overlook his callousness while preparing food and rude demeanor until I went to pay because I really wanted pizza. He said the total would be $11 and I stated to him that I have recieved the exact same order for $8. He argued I should have been charged more in the past for toppings. Instead of telling him its false advertising or he is lying about the price; to oblige him I said "just give me one slice." He states in a sarcastic tone " Yeah, I just love my job" At this point I am acutely aware by his unprofessional theatrics that I no longer will be purchasing anything from this location. I tell the cashier to keep both slices and the direspectful energy he prepared them with. Unfortunately at best Stinger Bee Bar/Grill is a dirty old dive bar with a ANGRY HORNET stinging prospective guests with his distasteful manner. Nothing "bee"autiful about it. I ended up buying lasagna from a...
Read moreMy wife and I went there tonight, the sign said open seating so we sat at a table, we waited 15 min to be acknowledged, a regular couple that talked to us told the waitress that we were getting upset so they finally came around. After that all was well, ordered drinks, a salad, and a pizza. Now comes my real issue, and this is for all my fellow Wyndham users, their website states that Wyndham guests get 20 pct off on Monday nights, I purposely bought a larger pizza so I could take the rest with me, when I showed the waitress my Wyndham room key she told me I could not take the rest of the pizza with me. Now nowhere on their website did I see that, I clearly ordered a larger pizza that my wife and I could eat. Now comes the point that pushed me over the edge, she explained that Wyndham guests will take one bite out of the pizza and ask for the rest to go as it is an dine in special only, "again not specified on their website", I responded that my wife and I had several drinks, so the special did what it was supposed to do, drive drink sales. As I am in the industry, the drinks we purchased cost us $31 and their profit (excluding overhead) was roughly $27. So if they give me 20 pct off on my food (not drinks) on a Monday night, sounds like a win for the restaurant. So I have to give this place one star for the bad experience. After all, this is a service industry and that's where they...
