Sazón — Restaurant in Ponce

We, me and my partner, wanted to celebrate our firsr anniversary in our work place. We read the reviews of this place so we ordered by phone what we wished for so it could be ready when we arrived.

When we got to the place, a lady informs us that they were "trying to communicate with us (which they didn't) because the menu we wanted wasn't available for the lunch time". Okay, fine by us but that wasn't the only thing that happened.

When the order arrived, the mofongo was dry and hard, seemed like they left it frying for more than the time required or something. The churrasco didn't had flavor, the only thing giving it some taste was the onion and that was a shock for me. The churrasco is a meat that goes well seasoned and it not having any at all and also chewy, was a downer.

I ordered a lemonade to accompany with my lunch and it didn't had sugar. I am uncertain if that's the way they prepare it but instead of letting me know beforehand, I got surprised. I didn't made the question since already was displeased both with the food and the service.

Oh wait, that's not all! When we were ready to order the dessert, they didn't had half of them! So we went with what they had. Out of all the downs, it was only the okay side that saved that lunch. Although they burned some sides of the caramel making it taste bitter 😢.

The prices aren't cheap so instead of going there, I would highly recommend heading to another place to pay equal price for a better product...

This restaurant is very well located right at the side of PR-14 road, basically in front of a shopping center. In fact, the restaurant itself is located in a small shopping center/commercial place. The entrance to the parking can be a bit confusing if it's your first time there, but there's always enough parking space. The restaurant and surroundings are usually clean and inside/outside decorations are very nice. There's even a nice view of the mountains from the wood deck area. The food is always of very good/great quality. You can order almost anything from the menu and it will probably be good. However, last time near lunch time the service wasn't that great. Servers were nice, but something was off. Maybe they were new or didn't want to work that day which I totally get it. Our server didn't take the time to offer desert. It's the first time in a really long time that I wasn't offered desert in a restaurant. Finally, the service is a 3-star, but the food deserves...

I ordered three drinks and a sampler. the food was absolutely delicious, the bacalito was a little salty for my taste but it was filled with flavor. The drinks were amazing like always. The waiter was barely present I had to look for him 2 times. once to get water and the other time to pay. I love going to sazón, when Celeste is working and the other girl they make the service better and are there to answer any question I may have. When I went this time I asked Sheila she was behind the bar about the sampler and she was very rude and gave me a very nasty response saying that I have the menu to scan at the table I just have to look…. I just wanted to know if there was another sampler bc I didn’t eat anything in that sampler other than the carne frita and chicken, I didn’t want it to...
