This place is an absolute gem. I want to start this by saying that I date an Italian pizza snob and have been chasing the “perfect” pizza with him for years and years. Well, we may have found it. My family and I were travelling to an air b-n-b in Crestone and there weren’t too many food places open as it was getting dark. We saw that this pizza spot had good reviews and something called a Crab Rangoon Pizza that we had to try. Our plan was to pick-up the order, drive an hour to the house, reheat the pizza and eat it. We went inside and the staff was so friendly right off the bat. We ordered a few pizzas and then decided to sit down and try a few draft ciders and beers. While we waited we heard the story of how this place started. A couple converted a chevy truck to have a brick pizza oven in the back and they started selling pies. They took off so fast that they eventually opened up their restaurant. They worked it for years just the two of them and in the last year or so they brought on their first employees. You can tell these employees really care about a quality product and great service. The pizza smelled so good that we said, What The Heck, and ate right there at the bar. Y’all. When I say this pizza was good I mean if God ate pizza…this would be her pizza. Listen, first off, the flour for the crust is imported from Italy and has like little to no gluten. I didn’t really know how that would translate in a pizza but let me tell you that crust was perfect. Wood. Fired. Deliciousness. I only had one problem. I couldn’t drink my beer for fear of washing the pizza taste out of my mouth. What a problem to have. We loved it so much that we drove back there a few days later and decided to “spin the wheel”. So, for $15 you can spin the wheel and you can win free prizes, free pizzas and more. We won a pizza that would have been more expensive that had goat cheese on it. We never would have tried it but wow it was so good. And of course we ordered another crab rangoon masterpiece. We chatted it up with some people, grabbed a few bumper stickers and rode off into the sunset. We hope life brings us back through for another slice one day. Do yourself a favor and stop in and give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed. Easily one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten and the local draft selections were top notch. 5 out of 5 stars … all...

We stopped in for the first time in a while on Tuesday. My husband and I have always loved Red Truck and have consistently had good service but this was by far the best service we’ve ever received in Salida. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. They have a great beer selection, and they were playing old football games on the TVs, which my husband really enjoyed. He mentioned several times how much he appreciated chatting with the younger gentleman about football.I caught the name of the older gentleman James who spoke with us about the history of Red Truck. He was fantastic to talk to and made our visit even more memorable. The woman who took our order and made sure we had everything we needed was also incredible. Honestly, they could write the book on customer service.

I didn’t catch the names of the younger gentleman or the woman, but I’d love to know when they three work so we can...

Good pizza, but y'all gotta offer what yer offerin. I'll clarify by saying, please be open. The business hours are worse than a bank. Never open. I'll go into town and eat more pizza from your competition, because every time I walk down the street for pizza, y'all are shut. Don't get it.

Edit after response from ownership: The hours of operation are well posted and that is helpful. Without exploring the iceberg, I will point out that this business is open 4 days per week, from 4pm-8pm. 16 hours total. I get having days off, there is so much more to life than work. Are you actively recruiting help? Perhaps adding to the army of 2 would allow your business to do more business? Assuming a 40 hour work week, 24 hours (×2) of prep for 16 hours of operation seems lopsided. My slices will be had elsewhere. Thanks again for taking time on one of your days off to...

This place is amazing. My partner studied abroad in Italy and said this pizza crust was better. The crust is perfect, the toppings are amazingly balanced, everything was just - astounding! They serve wine, beer, and seltzer too; and the ambience is very casual and chill, with board and card games, pool and air hockey and foosball, and a lot of cool seating areas. The wood fired oven is beautiful, and they also have a nice wood stove to keep the restaurant warm in the winter months. This place is doing everything right - go here. Also, we asked for one cheese and two cheeseless pizzas, and they still made them perfectly - thank you for accommodating dietary restrictions!

Super nice place and cool that it’s family owned however the garlic cheesy bread was just cheese bread not garlicky at all, both the pizza and the cheese bread was pretty brunt and had an off putting brunt taste. They also forgot the marinara sauce for the bread and thankfully we noticed before we had drove off. Unfortunately we wouldn’t return just because the size of the pizza was incredibly small and was just mainly crust and at that point we just were eating mainly brunt bread. The order was out fast though but again the brunt mess and the lack of toppings and seasoning was just a bummer.

Generally I don’t post anything anywhere, just like to stay unnoticed, but this pizza got my 66 year old butt excited about pizza again, my family and I now have this pizza 2 to 3 times a month. The only problem we have ever had is which product to order because we all have different favorites ! Good news is we like them all, just some more than others ! You’re super lucky if you’re visiting or driving through, but without a doubt grateful if you live in the area, this pizza reminds me of some of the small pizza joints in New York or Jersey, it’s that good !!!
