If you’re going to open a coffee shop, you should at the very least know how to make coffee. The flat white is the real benchmark. This morning I ordered one with oat milk. The barista then asked if I wanted sugar or flavor “like Starbucks.” Major red flag 🚩.
She then grabbed a 20-ounce cup, drowned a single shot of espresso in a sea of milk, and slid it across as if nothing were amiss. What I received wasn’t a flat white; it was a parody. Straight into the trash it went.
Lady, this line of work isn’t for you. And to the owner: for the love of caffeine, train your staff. A flat white is six ounces, not twenty. It’s not like this is some obscure specialty—this is a simple, common drink known all around the world.
Do yourself a favor to save eight dollars (yes… 8 whole U.S. dollars for this monstrosity) and a whole lot of disappointment:

Read moreThis is a great new addition to Salida!!! The coffee here tastes so good and the service is great. The place is really clean, cozy, and unique which is really nice to see with all the coffee shops now days. The seasonal drinks are so good and they have many different flavors and while also having a lot of options on their normal menu. With it being a pub as well as a coffee shop it has a little different vibe than most but one I actually really enjoyed. The place seemed very kid friendly as well and the bathrooms are very clean. If I’m heading to Salida and needing some very yummy and delicious coffee this will be...
Read moreWe stumbled across this absolute gem while on a road trip. It was just what we needed after several hours in the car. If you're a coffee lover or craft beer enthusiast, this hybrid brewery/coffee shop hits every note perfectly. The coffee offerings are inspired and the beer is impressive! My husband is a coffee snob and has his own legit espresso set up at home, and he said this was hands down the best cup he's ever had. I enjoyed an IPA, not too hoppy, absolutely delicious. If I lived in Salida this would be my daily go to for a pick me up or to wind down. Can't wait to...
