Poncha Pub — Restaurant in Poncha Springs

This is a nice little place and the food and libations are very good. However a friend and I went this evening and there was a very obnoxious loud and rowdy group of 5 or 6 people. We had intended to eat our meal there and enjoy conversation. We could not even hear each other over the loud and foul language from the group in the corner. We decided to get our food to go and leave. The bartender even seemed perturbed by the group but didn't ask them to lower their voices. As a former bartender I would have confronted them. There are not a lot of options in Salida and it is unfortunate that a nice little place like this is okay with patrons being driven away in lew of a loud mouth rowdy, bunch. One of the patrons at the bar asked me upon leaving how I was I doing. I told her that I was good except the people in the corner drove me out with their loud, lewd and obnoxious behavior. She responded with "Well they're our babies". I don't know if she is an employee that was off and enjoying libations but I responded with "Well they're not my babies and I'm a paying customer that doesn't...

Terrible customer service. I travel solo with my two dogs so I take them with me most places. I stopped by here because as I passed I saw another dog at a table. The area had seating outside and an open layout with a garage door for the bar area. I wanted to support a local business so I thought I’d stop by. I walked in to order and was standing there for at least 10 min. One of the employees made eye contact with me. Then a few minutes later asked me if the dogs were service dogs. I said no, because they’re not and I’m not going to fake service animals. She proceeded to say she can’t have dogs in there. And she’d get in a lot of trouble. That’s fine I understand food regulations. But she was so rude and condescending with her tone it was not nice. I immediately put down my order and left. Again, I didn’t mind leaving because of laws, but there were a million other ways to say kindly to take the dogs out. I will not be going back because of such...

Absolutely one of the best places to frequent in town. The staff is top notch and willing to go above and beyond for the customers. I have personally spoken with the owners of this fine establishment and I have to say, that the pub is definitely a reflection of them. Happy, very appreciative of all that visit, and open to any and everyone that are willing to speak with them.
