It was first time to visit the Poolesville, and my family had lunches this restaurant because this Mexican restaurant had the most highest stars near this place in Google map. But the guy seemingly a manager was really rude that I have never seen before. I asked the lunchtime menus are available to the serving staff and she said yes. Then, the guy taking our order on the table said the lunchtime menus are no more available. I asked why and told him the staff it’s OK. Then his answer was he decides which one is available or not, and repeatedly showed their top menus with repeatedly questioning whether we order beverages, before we took our time to look for other dishes. When he recommended those dishes, his saying was not persuasion with explaining which the ingredients are in and how tasty it is, but just kind of hucksterism. He seems like ‘I don’t want to take your order by listening what you guys want, but I am just here to sell what I want to you today’. Finally he said the lunchtime menus is available after my family heard his repeated forcing. The most worst thing is when we told what we order in front of him on the table, he listened but didn’t write on his note. So I thought he would memorize our order. But, my guess was wrong. He just listened what we are ordering. After listening our order, he then opened his note and wanted us to say the menus again! Is this something like the rural atmosphere which I should accept without any complaints? How could the Google score of this restaurant be...

This is the second time I ordered from this restaurant - I ordered the Shrimp Taco Salad both times, but ended up with pretty awful food poisoning the second time. The rest of my family ordered chicken and beef dishes and were okay.
My food tasted just fine, but about 4-5 hours after eating I ended up with severe nausea and then violent vomiting for about 4-5 more hours. It was absolutely terrible. I called the restaurant the next day just to advise them of what happened/ to make sure they discard any shrimp they had on-site so no one else got sick. While they were apologetic, they did not offer a refund. I really didn't care at that point - I just wanted to be done with the establishment. With that said, it would have been the least they could have done to offer this gesture.
I had my hesitations about the level of cleanliness of the establishment after my first visit, but figured it was okay since now one got sick the first time and we were ordering take-out. I'm all for supporting Poolesville businesses, but can no longer support this one and advise others to use extreme caution...
Read moreJust updated my review from 2 years ago (see below). We went back and had a decent experience. I would now return.
My original review from 2 years ago: I really wanted to like this restaurant because there are so few choices in Poolesville. Arrived early on a Saturday evening. There were three people working the dining area. While the activity from them was frenetic, the service was absolutely terrible. Totally ineffective. The phone was ringing at full volume over and over with no one answering it. No place settings at any of the tables. They were pretty quick delivering the chips and salsa but heaven help you if you needed a napkin! Drinks were slow coming. And once the waitress took my order she never showed up again. The people at the table to my right had to ask for their check three times.
I ordered the chicken enchiladas which I did enjoy.
Very...
