I want to love this place. But. Ugh. We have been three times. And the first time was the very best of experiences here. The first time the waitress was wonderful. The food was fine and exactly what we expected. The sauce bar was nice. The bill was $150 not including the tip. I’m fine with that. The second time we went, the waiter was very slow, not there a lot, but he did come by and we eventually get the food. The bill was $115 before the tip. We went yesterday and it was a mess. The place smells like the toilet blew up but it was only in one area of the restaurant, so where they seated us we didn’t have any smell or anything but every time you had to walk to the front door you smelled it coming out of one of the side rooms , I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt because we’ve been here before it was decent, clean, and zero weird smells (IYKYK). This time we brought a friend from out of town to experience it. The waitress seated us and every time we needed her after that we had to get up and go find her or ask one of the other wait staff to find her. I went up several times to the front past the smelly smell to go get her from the front counter two times, on her phone. And every time she would leave she never returned to check on us at any point. If you’ve been here before, then, you know you have to have the person so that you can continuously order things to put on your grill or in your pot. And then the kitchen staff brings you the actual food and you cook the food yourself. This last waitress has completely turned me off from ever going back to this place. It was madness that we had to get up from our seat every time and walk around the restaurant looking for her. And other staff including what I think was a manager seeing us continually get up and find our waitress. There were only two waitresses and 4 tables of people. Both of them hanging out at the front. I see the manager but walking back and forth quickly so I wasn’t able to catch his eye to get his attention. It was just disappointing. Customer service didn’t seem to be a...

Edit, but leaving original statements. We've been a few times since original review and it's progressively gotten worse as time went on. The food quality is still good, but service has declined immensely.

The service is great. Staff is trained to tell you everything you need to know about having a good experience even if you've never had hot pot or Korean BBQ. Atmosphere is good too, they have a nice lighting system for when I asked where the salad/sauce bar location the waiter said "it's in the central area with blue lights you won't be able to miss it" paraphrasing, but he was definitely correct it's impossible to miss, because they did a great job of keeping it well lit while still having ambient lighting. The food menu had a huge selection and everything sounded good, but I don't know how I feel about the hot pot aspect as everything is boiled to cook and it just tastes that way. I get they're raw ingredients and you dip them in sauce, nothing they do wrong here in that regard, but it's not my favorite way to prepare my food. We didn't get the BBQ as it was our first time trying hotpot(could explain my interest), but I feel like scallops need to be seasoned and cooked differently than being boiled in broth with flavoring. Again, all things I admit could be user error or personal preference, so I don't blame them at all. Everything was fresh and nothing tasted bad. The sauce bar recommendations could possibly use measurements as I immediately overdid the garlic like I feel a lot of people will do, but for next time I'm sure I can fix that myself. Overall it was a fairly priced meal for 2, the service did a good job, the food was presented to us fresh, the atmosphere was perfect for a date night, and we will...

A couple of months ago, my wife and I visited a close friend in Newport News, and he introduced us to Hot Pot 757 & Korean BBQ. It was his first time having hot pot, and while it was our first visit to this restaurant, we enjoyed hot pot in the past. This experience was a great way for us to share a new restaurant with him while introducing him to a new cuisine.

The ambiance at Hot Pot 757 was warm and inviting, with a modern, stylish setup that made for a comfortable dining experience. The layout was perfect for groups, and the atmosphere had a lively yet relaxed vibe, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family and friends.

The selection of soup bases was excellent. We tried the original Chinese Herbal, vegetarian, and Szechuan spicy. Each had a unique flavour, with the Szechuan Spicy standing out for its bold heat, and the Chinese Herbal offering a more soothing, aromatic taste.

For my main choices, I went with Prime Brisket and Sliced Chicken, both of which were fresh and cooked to perfection in the hot pot. I also added chicken dumplings, which were a tasty, hearty side. For vegetables, I opted for spinach, fresh corn, broccoli, potato, and bok choy—all of which were crisp and paired well with the rich broth.

The service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with recommendations or refills. They took the time to explain the menu to my friend, who was new to hot pot, and made sure our experience was seamless from start to finish.

Overall, the experience was fantastic, from the ambiance and food to the quality of service. This was definitely not our last visit, and we look forward to coming back again! Highly recommend Hot Pot 757 & Korean BBQ for anyone...

First time here, had a great experience. We were promptly seated, server was nice. Lots of variety for food. It's actually overwhelming at first. This experience is so much better than going to an all you can eat buffet. There seems to be a lot of Asian resturants picking up on the idea of selecting your ingredients and putting them together in a dish. Poke bowel and Ramen themed resturants for example. The experience here goes quite a few steps further where you can pretty much keep getting refills on your hot pots with different ingredients and the same with the BBQ or proteins. I was dumbstruck by the idea of all you can eat steak, shrimp, and bolgogi. For 3 our check was about $119.00, which isn't bad at all. I left stuffed and can't imagine going anywhere and getting all you can eat shrimp and steak for about $40.00. Most places will charge you that alone for a 10 oz steak. My only complaint is the Tempora. I'm part Japanese and grew up eating home cooked Japanese food, and obviously at resturants. If someone had ordered this version of Tempora and handed it to me I would have never guessed it was Tempora. It reminded me more of fried tofu. I asked our server twice and was reassured it was Tempora. It was very soft and spongy, not crispy and fried like I'm used to. The food takes a while to heat up, you pretty much are doing all the seasoning and cooking. Expect to spend 2 hours here, which is a nice way to spend time with family and loved ones. If you're on a tight schedule or out for a 1 hour lunch I don't think this experience would work too well. Over all I enjoyed my experience and plan on coming back again.

Major warning, you might get addicted to this place. Also, you’ll come home smelling of grilled meat (you may not even be aware), do yourself a favor and air out or immediately wash your clothes. Not kidding. I love love love this location. If you’ve never been there’s kind of a routine to it that you need to be aware of, but they’ll help you. Some pointers and tips. If you want hot pot, you’ll each have your own burner…if you want bbq, you’ll all share the center grill. For the Korean bbq I’d recommend the rice and lettuce as bases, and any additional meats/veggies. The rice and lettuce can serve as ā€œbasesā€ to your meats/sauces. I like to create lettuce wraps. Once you let the waiter know what option (hot pot, bbq, or both) you want and meats/etc then you can head to the center bar with the sauces and such. Pay attention to the menu above it, helps in creating sauces. I wish they had pre made ones but oh well. The garlic sauce base and the sweet chili base were my favorites. Their seaweed salad is very good by the way. Favorite meats were definitely bulgogi and curry chicken and pork belly. I also really enjoyed the sweet potatoes (dipped in sauce and then grilled). Don’t bypass the sauces, don’t underestimate the veggies, and don’t use the same tongs for the raw meat and the cooked meat (you should get 2 tongs).
