Tony's BBQ & Steakhouse — Restaurant in Port Arthur

We are not from the area but was wanting bbq & this place had good reviews. We went through the drive thru, the staff was very nice. However, our meals did not live up to the reviews we read. My husband said his chicken was dry & flavorless, and the brisket in my plate was gray, dry, and hard. We both got ribs as our second meat and they were better than the other meats, some sweetness in the rub, juicy and tender, but overall just okay. The corn casserole is not really a casserole, it’s more of a creamed corn & both of our servings had a weird taste like it was starting to sour. Our daughter got the chopped brisket sandwich and enjoyed it- I sampled the meat and it was much better than the sliced brisket in my plate. Our middle son got the kids burger and enjoyed it but said it could be better. Our youngest got the kids sausage on a stick and this was the star of the meal. Went in to purchase a bbq chicken plate and a crispy chicken salad, when I got home and open the container they gave me a grilled chicken salad instead of crispy chicken. Called to let them know they did not give me what I ordered so I asked if i could get a credit when I return. I was told that if I bring the grilled salad back they would give me a crisp chicken salad and that it would be extra money. So you expect me to drive back to your business so that you can fix a mistake that you made and plus give you extra money. No one ever apologized for getting my order wrong and neither did they care about losing a customer when I said I will not be returning to their establishment. Instead of giving me a simple credit of a few dollars to correct THEIR MISTAKE to keep a customer, they would rather lose a paying customer. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE TONYS BARBECUE. I had the sausage and chopped brisket plate. Sausage tasted like it was Eckrich, which is a hot dog like sausage that is cheap. They definitely don't make their own. Chopped brisket was decent not much smoke flavor. For the sides I had dirty rice and pinto beans both were tasteless. Dirty rice wasn't dirty at all. Take some of that left over meat from the day before and add it to the dirty rice and put the cajun trinity in it for more flavor.
