Habaneros — Restaurant in Port Lavaca

Since iv moved back iv had this place in my ❤. They have my favorite dish on the menu and it is as good as it was when I used to live in Palacios tx. The restaurant there was just amazing and til I came here I hadn't seen or heard of it again til HIBANEROS... I THANK THEM FOR EVERYTHING... MY FAVORITE WAITRESS MOVED ON , BUT SHE WOULD JUST NO MY VOICE ON PHONE AND AUTOMATICALLY NEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING TO B ORDERED. I DIDNT HAVE TO SAY NOTHING AFTER A GOOD 2 / 3 MONTHS AND ID CALL SAY MY NAME AND ID WALK IN .. MY TABLE ,DRINKS, CHIPS & FOOD WOULD B READY FREASH AND HOT. I MISS HER BUT , YESTERDAY MY WAITRESS WAS ON TOP OF IT AS WELL. SHE WAS CONSISTENT, SHE GO GET BUSY AND COME BACK. I LUV THAT IN A WAITRESS THATS WHAT WAITRESSES ARE TO DO WITHOUT ADDITUDE. IV NEVER I COUNTERED A SINGLE ADDITUDE. SO FOR THAT I GIVE THEM HIGH PROPS! KEEP UP THE WORK LADIES AND GENTS... LUV...

This was my first time eating at this restaurant and I ordered takeout. When I called to place my order the staff answered the phone in a timely and I wasn't placed on hold. The person taking my order did it professionally and thoroughly. I ordered the #40- Tampiquena Plate (one cheese enchilada, beef fajitas, one crispy taco, rice, and beans), chips and salsa, and their sopapillas for dessert. My order was ready at the promised time and hot. The staff was attentive to their drive-thru and I didn't have to wait for someone to appear at the window. The portions were more than generous and could easily be split into two smaller meals. The sopapillas were by far my favorite. We were driving through, meeting my mom for a halfway kid swap..and might I add it was 10 of us and they took us in no problem! This Mexican food was absolutely perfect, reminded me of my grandmothers. I am not typically the person that orders something different..but I saw them bring out a plate to someone else and knew I wanted that! The gordita plate. I thought there was no way I could finish it..but it was sooo good I wanted to! Great, friendly service. I tried not to have the kids running around as best as I could, but they were still kind the few times they did. They had a candy/toy machine so that kept the kids entertained..but bring your quarters! Lol. Overall family feel and great food. I just wish they had a margarita! Beer only.
