China Star (which is my go to place) is closed on Tuesdays. I had to pick another spot. I've tried this place before and it was pretty good but this was 5 or more years ago. Got the combination meal with beef Lo Mein, pork fried rice, and an eggroll. Also, got my daughter some eggdrop soup (its her favorite from China Star). I'll start here....as soon as I opened the tub I knew it didn't look right. Most are a light yellow in color but this one looked almost orange. Kiddo said it wasn't good. I didn't try it so I cant give my opinion. Now, my Lo mein and rice on the other hand was some of the saltest foods I have ever eaten in my life! I couldn't taste anything else beside that. The beef in the Lo mein was tender, but too tender to the point it tasted extremely weird. Almost like cotton candy meets beef broth meets fake meat. I honestly can't describe it. The eggroll (salty as hell again) but the inside had no meat and everything was mush. The outside was crisp but that was the only good part about it. All I can is....I wasn't impressed at all. I will definitely stick with China Star and never again return here.

So…THERE WAS A BUG IN OUR FOOD! The worst part about this review is that I was heating up leftovers when I realized this. We had eaten there once before and honestly the food was delicious. My wife and I got takeout last night and my wife was heating up some leftovers today and saw a significantly large bug in the food. It definitely did not come from our house - I’ll add pictures but that thing was COOKED IN! Not to mention my wife is pregnant! This is such a hazard. Please don’t eat here!

Food was good and large servings. Only 2 tables to sit at, so mostly to go orders. We ordered the dinner combos which came with egg rolls and fried rice. We tried the Shrimp Egg foo young and the Moo Goo Gai Pan. Both were delicious, but the 2nd dish was chicken, mushrooms and bok Choi with no carrots.

It's a small restaurant. Very clean. However, the food is up and down. I ordered cashew chicken and it was very bland. Friend ordered the boneless spareribs and the pieces were cut too big and there was a lot more fat than normal. Also, she had to add the sweet and sour sauce to get the right flavor. Kids had sweet and sour chicken and complained there was too much coating and the chicken was hard to find.

We've tried several other Chinese restaurants in the area that have not been as good so we've tried them a few other times and seen improvements so maybe that first experience was just an off day? Their fried wontons (with meat) are good and 1 of my kids loves the vegetable lo-mein and they even hold the mushrooms out for her. We will go back for sure. Check them out but remember, they're...
