I grew up at Go Cart City, and the thought of it closing broke my heart. Then I watched all the hard work and effort to change things for the better start to transform the run-down, dangerous park I knew and loved into something that my kids could come to and enjoy.
We asked our 10 year old what she wanted to do for her birthday which is usually a very hard challenge because her birthday is December 26th. She wanted to go race go carts at the new place, Tiki Adventure Zone. So that’s what we did!
From the moment you turn off nova, the parking lot is clean, free from trash, and obviously well taken care of. The building is freshly painted and you can start to notice that the details matter to the new owners and management. As you walk in the doors, the entire inside is remodeled into a functional and very nice new check in area and brand new arcade. Everything is top of line and state of the art! We were greeted by Koa, the Chief Fun Officer, and he was warm, welcoming and most of all, genuine. Along with his father and the rest of their team, they went above and beyond to make all of their guests feel appreciated and welcome. You can tell they spent a lot of time training the staff and making sure safety is a top priority. The guys on the track were all smiling and friendly, they were very well trained and informed on how the carts work and gave very clear instructions on track safety as well as how the carts operate. All the carts are brand new and very well taken care of. The park itself is very clean with no trash laying around or even any gum on the freshly painted walkways. The mini golf course was completely overhauled and it shows. The new flags in the holes were great for retrieving your golf balls without having to get down on the ground to dig your ball out of a super deep hole.
As I walked around the park and noticed all the details that someone took the time to make sure were done right, I couldn’t help but be thankful for these people that put the effort into the town I grew up in and love to make something so nice for our kids and community to enjoy. Yes, the prices are higher than Go Cart City. But the quality of the park as well as the overall experience are absolutely worth the extra money for each adventure. I have been RAVING to anyone that inquires about something fun to do with the kids about this new and amazing new gem we have right here in Port Orange. Thank you and your entire crew of amazing staff for turning a fond childhood memory into a new adventure for me and my entire family. We will be back...
Read moreI have been going to this location for go karting since I was kid, decades ago, so I was very disappointed when the original place closed down a year or so ago. So the new place opens and I have to give it a try, I bring the whole crew with me to see how it is, and guess what? It is much, much better! From the 2 guys working the register being incredibly nice and helpful to the 2 guys working the karts who were also very informative and helpful, it was a great experience before we ever strapped into the Go Kart. They have slow ones, medium ones and soon to be real fast ones. The course you pay for is by time, not laps, which I like (I believe it was 8 minutes). Digital signs telling you whether it is a Red, Green, Yellow or Last Lap. Everything has been updated. Helmets mandatory, safety glasses optional. You can bring your own if you ride motorcycles like I do. We chose medium ones the 2nd time and they were plenty fast with good action. The lobby has very new games including full motion simulators. Soon there will be bumper boats. They still retain the same exact batting cages as the previous owner. We met the mechanic on the way out (older, biker dude, you'll see his bike parked up front) he was great & helpful as well.
This is my overall reaction to it. Go Karting hadn't changed much (where I went) in decades. It was time for a change, everything is updated and the technology helps. Its the same as any olf putt putt golf place in town, its been the same forever, then Pop Stroke opens and brings that old past time into the 21st Century.
I want to thank Ray, Cayden, Willie & Jose for a great experience and being genuinely helpful to my family & me....
Read moreTook my nephew here to ride go-karts; we did ride, for two single karts, one adult and one minor it came out to $31 for one eight-minute race. Unfortunately, it was just the two of us on the track. Driving up, it looked like about seven or eight riders were racing, but by the time we got the desk guy's attention, signed waivers, and paid, the track was empty.
There was very little information written anywhere that could be read, which would have been nice because it was very hard to hear the desk clerk over all the noise in that room.
We both would have rather done the fast karts, but I didn't see anything about them. Also, their website as shown on Google maps was not working when I looked, and I couldn't find any pricing information online.
But we did ride one race, which was my nephew's first time driving, so the tiki adventure zone will hold a special place in our hearts...
