We had been coming here for years and always had great experiences. They came under new management and service has steadily gone down since then.
They’ve begun prioritizing online orders over the people in front of them, the location is not kept clean, and it is very disorganized overall, and prices have gone up.
Our most recent visit will most likely be our last. After waiting in line for over twenty minutes, with only one person in front of our family, we felt the need to leave. There were 6 people in line behind my family as well. They were filling any of the online orders that came through as we were waiting. The chocolate side of the soft serve machine wasn’t working, and the vanilla side stopped as they were filling the online orders.
They told the customer in front of us they ran out of cookies and cream, and didn’t have time to refill the cooler. Ice cream containers were stacked on top of each other and falling into the containers below, creating health/hygiene issues. There was melted and refrozen ice cream all over the sides and the bottom of the cooler, it looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in awhile. Around the restaurant was also dirty and needed a good cleaning.
I wish I could say all of this was a one time occurrence, but it has been the standard for at least the past 6 months that we’ve been stopping in.
We are very disappointed to see a once great local business...

Dirty counters (tops and sides), dirty floor, smells like it's been mopped with repeated dirty water, ractically all ice cream containers were empty. Please someone bring Joy's back to the clean little fresh joint it use to be, before its past a point of no return. With so many ice cream places around, joys needs to step up and be what they once were.
1/3/22: disappointing update. I don't know what has been happening with joys but it's been a slow decline for sure. Place os starting to look run down and dirty. Smelled like sour milk when u walked further in to order. Dirty counters with old dried ice cream. The ice cream containers were almost all empty, the ice cream looked so sugary am glazed vs. The fresh ice cream we were use to and grown to love...sad. what happened Joys?
Great place, great staff and ice cream is delicious! ! Clean and never "annoyingly" busy...my son...
Read moreI have been to Joy's several times and enjoyed the nondairy options as someone with an allergy to milk (EpiPen level y'all, I'm not dramatic). Today I went in and asked for the nondairy flavor I wanted and was told they were out. I asked to try a second dairy free flavor and was then corrected to "lactose free". After clarifying I was told they have changed their nondairy flavor to instead be lactose free but are still listing as nondairy. I informed the guy behind the counter that I'm actually very allergic to dairy and lactose free is not the same at all and I could've gotten really sick if the flavor I wanted was in stock (I wasn't corrected the first time). The guy behind the counter told me he'd change the board to read "lactose free" instead but I just don't have faith people will always do as they say and wanted to leave a review in case someone like me gets sick on accident
Tldr; the nondairy flavors are actually only lactose...
