First off, this place came highly recommended so maybe it was an off day for the restaurant. The tortilla chips were, cold, very hard, and dark brown like they were fried in very old oil. The salsa had NO flavor. I wanted to ordered Pepe's monster burrito with red sauce but was told it came with cheese sauce and the waitress made it seem like I wasn't allowed to add a topping (why not both?). Our order came out and it looked good. My burrito was cold. The shredded beef had a tamale wrapper or onion skin in it that could not be consumed. Now the refried beans, well I wouldn't quite call them refried as it was mostly a very thin soup. Tasted good and hot but not the consistency of any refried beans I've ever eaten. Tacos and chimichunga, I was told, were a little bland but good. I won't go back.

First time i visited (a couple of months ago) ordered two tacos, and though they where OK. Them, came back with my partner to try again cause the 5 stars reviews here. Unfortunately, the fajitas where nothing special (not authentic at all), and my partner said that his two beef tacos where among the worst he ever had .. Alas, he is from SF and used to authentic Mexican food. The waitress was friendly but suddenly got busy, and we had to wait long time to get the dishes picked up and get the bill. We gave up and had to wait at the register even longer to pay cause she was still taking orders and serving food. Sorry, but there are better tacos, fajitas, better prices, and better service at Pueblo Viejo , Taco Dive, and Taqueria Montano's on US1...

First off the horchata is by far number 1 in the tc area. It has the perfect balance of cinnamon, rice, and sweetness. Is also comes with shredded bits of horchata, sooo good. The place is small but comfy. The ac was not as powerful as you would want it to be on a hot day surrounded by spicy food. The tacos had a bit too many fatty chunks of meat and a bit dry. The chimichanga was delicious, healthy topping of sour cream and grated cheese on top. Their hot sauce is hott and not will not overpower the foods flavor. I would go back to try other plates. Prices are decent. Staff is friendly. They are good, but not the best in town.

Really great authentic food. The Mexican burrito was wonderful, the salsas are great. Unfortunately, though, we had a bad experience here.

We ordered the lunch special today and got charged the dinner price. Kind of a shock when it's $56 not $24. The lady at the counter, instead of fixing it, said we didn't specify we wanted the lunch special so she just gave us the dinner price. My girlfriend was paying and didn't think to question it.

Yes, neither of us said anything, but we feel taken advantage of. The person taking our payment should have fixed it when we pointed out the problem without us having to argue. We feel that they also shouldn't have just gone ahead and charged us the dinner price for something that is clearly a lunch menu item and which we ordered during lunch.

After leaving, the experience left us feeling disappointed and honestly we felt ripped off.

As much as we like the food we'll be...
