Well, from the outside, this pizza joint sure looks like a classic. Guess what? I’d say it should be listed as one.

My girlfriend and I went inside and waited to be seated. It took a moment, but I’m sure that’s because they were busy. After all, it was a Saturday and like I said, pretty much a classic. We were seated at a booth/table in a back corner area. The more privacy, the better I like to say! We were helped almost immediately. I’d say we were helped almost too quick, considering it was hard to choose what to pick on their mouth-watering menu.

I ordered a Diet Pepsi and we got Bread Sticks for an Appetizer. The Diet was served in a big cup! That was a big plus for me as I go through pop fast! It was a nice flavor with an appropriate carbonation. The Bread Sticks were amazing! It came with four sticks, a marinara sauce, and almost a zesty-type of cheese sauce. The sticks were good plain and in both of the sauces. They were the perfect start.

We ordered a Small Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza and a whole order of Tommy G’s Pasta. You also have the option to get the pasta in a Half Order, but I definitely recommend the whole order, especially since it comes with a Salad. We chose Caesar dressing for it. The pasta also included bread.

The Salad was a fresh blend of vegetables and accompanied with the Caesar dressing scattered over everything made for a tasty salad.

The food wasn’t necessarily quick and it also wasn’t necessarily a long wait. Who really wants a rushed pizza, though? I sure don’t. The pizza came out very hot. It was so good. I think my favorite part would be the crust. It tasted like they put a cheese flavor on it. I basically ate the whole pizza alone, almost. The pasta, wow, this pasta had such an original flavoring to the sauce! The noodles were cooked just right. The whole dish made a mean combination for pretty much a flawless pasta. Who knew a pizza place could throw such an awesome pasta dish your way? I didn’t. The bread was soft and decent to munch on.

The service was efficient and friendly. We were helped by more than one person. They were on top of things for most of the visit.

Overall, this pizza place is a must-try if you’re a pizza fan. If you’re not, it’s still a must-try, because there’s more than pizza here! I loved it and I think many others will, too. I plan on ordering again in the future.

Leaving a bad review isn’t something that I like to do because I work in the food industry but I was utterly disappointed with the service I received in this establishment. We got seated promptly and it seemed a little busy. We got seated at the exact same time as a party of 4. I had a party of 2. Our orders were taken at the exact same time. All we ordered was a medium two topping pizza and French fries. We waited over an hour. The tables that were sat after us received there food and we still didn’t receive our pizza. I’m a very patient person and we were given false promises that the pizza would be out and it didn’t happen. The failure comes from management. The manager didn’t apologize to us about the inconvenience; didn’t even speak to us. Who ever they were sat in the office and did nothing. At the restaurant I work at we take consumer satisfaction very serious and unfortunately this establishment didn’t care. No one tried to make things right and we were still charged for the fries we ate. Paying for the fries isn’t a problem but if this happened at my restaurant the order would be compted and the manager would give out a gift card or try to make this better. It also didn’t help that me being a person of color with the other member of our party watching every white person in the restaurant eat while we waited and waited and waited didn’t help either. I will not be...

Gelsosmoes is good. The staff I mostly very friendly and helpful. However, I have had to come back for my orders to be corrected. We have been going here for decades. We really like the popeye pizza and idk anywhere else that has it. We used to love this place. But over the last year or more the food has gotten worse. The last order, we got a small ham, sausage and pepperoni calabrese. Also a few other items. They forgot the calabrese pizza & overcharged our bill. After arriving home, for the 2nd time from picking up our food, we noticed while cutting into the pizza there was very little meat. Even just for a regular sausage etc. pizza. But for a meat lovers, it was especially lacking. Pretty sure they forgot the ham bc we couldn’t find any when eating it. There really wasn’t much meat at all tbh :( On top of that, the rest of our food was now cold from having to go back. Our prior 3 experiences were about the same. We’ve had to return, replace or receive credit many times. We love to support our local businesses so I hope this review will help to improve the experience of your establishment bc we really did like this place and love the nostalgia...

Here I am with some friends on our search for the perfect pizza. We are trying out 4 different types of pizza. Pepperoni, sausage and ham. The works, sausage and cheese and then the deep dish. (I am always wanting an awesome deep dish) Also some appetizers were purchased for taste. A couple basic things , but the thing that was different was the shrimp jammers. (Think jalapeño popper from Arby's but change the big jalapeño for shrimp stuffed with the cheese and jalapeño bits) Brought 3 new peeps with us. We judge 3 categories. Atmosphere: 3.5 out of 5 (cute , but like a lot of different ideas under one roof) Food: 3 out 5 (the sauce was very bitter on the regular pan pizza's but was more flavorful on the deep dish) Overall experience 3 (not worth the hour wait but it was OK. Not something I would drive all the way out here for again.) *there was a shift change so we got forgotten a little and a couple peeps sat with empty drinks, I never got my refill and my niece waited forever for sugar packets for her tea.*

Absolutely the worst of all places since moving here. That was my "chicken parm" with no cheese. My husband's spaghetti and meatballs had NO meatballs, my sons pepperoni pizza had NO pepperoni! I called they offered to credit my account, what a surprise when calling back there was...you guessed it NO credit! The manager argues with me telling me he isn't going to give away $50 worth of food. When he didn't mind STEALING my $50 by not providing the food I ordered! We spend over $50-$100 every time we order! By the looks of the other reviews this place has lost many customers, along with myself and family. It may seem like just a drop in a bucket, but that is how the bucket gets full...keep doing what you're doing and you'll be out of business before you know it. Rip off!

Had been hearing about this place for a hot minute, but haven’t had the time/chance to try it yet. Tried it tonight and OMG, it is amazing. Had a large thin crust, tavern cut, pepperoni and sausage. Well done. Wife had a fettuccine Alfredo. It’s amazing. The crust pops and the sauce is just the right taste. Not too sweet, not too bland. Hits all the right notes for me. I will definitely getting this again, as this bumped my previous spot for my favorite pizza place in Portage.
