Well, to begin this was very disappointing. I ordered the chicken tender salad that stated on the menu that it was made with mixed greens...no way, got limp, wimpy and flat iceberg only! This is FALSE advertising. Waiter Jimi C states, the eggs cost $.75 each so we have to make concessions with the lettuce, that is why it was iceberg and not mixed greens. REALLY? This place is a joke-NEVER would I come in again. Had to bring the leftover chicken home and make my own salad and meal. Meanwhile, my dining partner had a dry, with not many accoutrements, chicken fried steak sandwich. Jimi never offered nor asked what he may like to compliment this sandwich (ie: steak sauce or mayo?). This sandwich also had a very green textured piece of lettuce on it (like I didn't get). A gal staff asked if we liked the food and we stated our concerns, she said she would let the owner know. She aslo whispered to Jimi that we should be comped and he ignored her. Well I'm letting you know that this was thoroughly unacceptable. If you plan to make a go in the food business, get better ingredients, correct the...
Read moreThe food, service, price, and atmosphere at "The Rooster's Call", Portage, Michigan location were awesome. After a long, productive, and positive work day, my wife Alicia Richmond and I went to The Rooster's Call in Portage, Michigan at 6:42 pm on Wednesday evening. We were given a warm welcome by Nikki who took us to our booth. The interior was also warm and inviting. Monica took our order. My wife and I both ordered a country fried steak sandwich, with onion rings. The sandwhich also came with a dill spear. We also ordered a decalf coffee and a lemon tea. The sandwhich came with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. The sandwhich and pickle went well together and were delicious. The food, service, and price were wonderful. Alicia and I honestly enjoyed our dining experience at "The Rooster's Call" in Portage, Michigan. We were given a Wow experience that exceeded our...
Read moreSaw this place had opened up and was excited to try it. Ordered the lake perch basket for myself ($17 btw) and the chicken sandwich for my wife. Food was very underwhelming, unfortunately. Tasted like freezer food. Maybe it was just my choice of food. I get it, I ordered fish from a breakfast place but this just wasn’t good. Floppy, small portioned, not well seasoned, didn’t smell or taste particularly fresh either. The fries were crispy and pleasant at least. My wife said her chicken sandwich was very average. I may give their breakfast a go at some point but I wasn’t inspired to do so any time soon.
Edit: Have now been for breakfast twice. Breakfast food is definitely better, but still not a good value. I found most items are over priced. Not my cup of tea, but if you don’t mind the prices you’ll...
