Barbeque Pit — Restaurant in Portland

Apparently, the staff can't tell the difference between pork or turkey when making your plate.

I ordered turkey nachos and instead was given pork, and the person who was going to be eating them is allergic to pork. That could have been terrible if they had eaten them.

Then I go back and make them make me a new plate, and this is what I end up with.... All kinds of liquid at the bottom of the plate because they do not know how to drain the turkey before serving it and all the chips were soggy.

The chips in both of our meals were also very stale, probably because they leave them sitting out and not in an air tight container.

This place has definitely gone downhill and isn't worth the money you pay...

I normally love the BBQ pit, and I’m not sure if it was an off day. But we got a rack of ribs and a few bbq nachos for takeout, and the nachos were pretty good. Not as much meat/toppings as normal, but great taste. But the ribs were hands down the worst I’ve ever had, we literally fed them to our dogs because we couldn’t eat them. The membrane hadn’t been stripped in them, making them have the most awful texture. Super disappointing because I’ve wanted to try their ribs for years, but never been through that way on the weekends. Hopefully it was just an off day, but I just wanted to warn fellow customers so they don’t waste $ on a meal that’s equivalent to dog...

The service was great. The employee was very kind and helpful. However, the food was disappointing. Maybe my expectations of BBQ are different since I’m from Texas, but when I walked in, the place had a strange smell. You typically expect a delicious smoky aroma in a BBQ restaurant, so that was off-putting.

I ordered the pork sandwich and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, the pork wasn’t smoked and lacked seasoning; it felt like it was cooked in a crockpot. The mac and cheese was watery and didn’t taste good either. I really wanted to enjoy the meal, but I left feeling hungry because I didn’t eat much. I would suggest not advertising as...
