New China Buffet — Restaurant in Portland

I found this little gem because of a billboard on I 96E. Has semi truck parking. They offer free wifi. Parking for semi's has a few big holes but nothing you cannot avoid. The inside was really clean and did not smell. The Mongolian Beef was good, but the green onion look like it had seen better days. The fried rice was good (not overcooked or undercooked). Pork on a stick was good (perfect temp and not overcooked). Greenbeans were nice and crunchy (they were slightly warm and should of been hotter). The spring rolls tasted good but were a little bit too crunchy on the bottom side that was touching the pan. The pork roast rolls tasted good but were a tad dry. The corn kernels were great (hot and tasty). The sweet and sour chicken was great. The crab ragoon was absolutely spot on. Not too hot or cold, not too sweet, and just the perfect texture. I would rather have good Chinese food than mediocre Chinese buffet. This was very good Chinese food served buffet style, and anything but mediocre. This is not the largest buffet, but definitely one of the best I have tried. Everything was fresh and delicious. Chinese buffets often have bland food that tends to be dried out and lifeless. The beef dish they were serving was tender, not over cooked, and very tasty. The shrimp dish they served had larger than average shrimp for a buffet with fresh and well prepared vegetables. The sauces in the dishes I sampled were wonderful and more complex than other Chinese buffets. In my opinion, Chinese buffet equates to cheap low quality food. I felt that the food I tasted here rivaled a more formal more expensive Chinese dining experience. Judging by all of the 5 star reviews, I'm sure my second meal here will be as good as the first. This buffet is on my very short list of favorite Chinese restaurants. We visit nearly every time we are in the area. I've found the people who work here to be friendly and helpful. And the food is oh-so-delicious! My mom, who loves Chinese food but usually has some kind of reaction and gets a headache from eating it, can eat here without getting a headache every time. I could go on and on about my favorite dishes here, but I'll just mention the beef and mushrooms and the stuffed mushrooms. Oh, I'm getting hungry just thinking about them. And they have desserts, including hand dipped ice cream. All this and wifi, too! Looking forward to my next stop...
