As someone who has been coming into Prince on Fremont for about as long as it has been open, I have to say that the quality of service is the one thing you can always depend on. This coffee shop is a beloved staple to the community it is planted in. It serves both the neighborhood its apart of, as well as customers who travel from all over. Are there wait times on certain days because Prince has done such a wonderful job of creating a space where individuals and families alike can start their day over a delicious cup of coffee, in a friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere? Absolutely. What place wouldn't if it was doing something right?
Reading some of these negative reviews from hissy, naggy, privileged individuals is probably the one injustice that befalls Prince. If you're wanting to find a shop where the people behind the counter take the time to get to know your name and preference of drink? This place is for you. If you're wanting to find a shop where the quality of your coffee order comes hand in hand with care of the people who made it? This place is for you. If you're looking to find a shop where all are welcome, treated with care, respect, and kindness regardless of who you are; this place is for you.
And for those who clearly don't spend nearly enough time in this space, and with the people who bring it to life day in and day out.. You can literally walk a block east of Prince and you will find yourself a Starbucks, where you can receive the world class corporate coffee service you so clearly prefer in your miserable,...
Read moreI ordered the Pesto Breakfast sandwich and a cold brew iced coffee with cream and stroopwafle syrup. It was all so delicious!
The pesto breakfast sandwich was the cutest and most delicious breakfast sandwich I’ve had. The bread was perfectly spongy and soft. The pesto was insanely delicious and unique. It is house-made using cashews. It was bold but also fresh, so it was not overpowering. The egg was light and airy. The Boerenkaas cheese added some saltiness to the whole thing. The arugula tied everything together leaving a fresh and earthy flavor on the palate.
The cold brew had a unique taste. I’ve never had a stroopwafle before, and I was not aware that that’s what Prince Coffee is known for since I was just visiting the area for the first time, so I didn’t get one 🥲. Therefore, I am not sure if it stands up for its name and tastes like a stroopwafle or not, but I can tell you, it is delicious. I could taste the caramel and the cinnamon. It was a little buttery too. It all went together perfectly.
Definitely recommend, and I will be back for my...
Read moreWonderful small coffee shop that's perfect for covid-conscientious customers! You can easily place orders for pickup on their website, like some other stores, but they go above and beyond. I got an iced stroop latte with oatmilk; they kept it in the fridge without ice until I arrived, at which point they added the ice. Such a small detail, but it kept the drink fresh and from being watered down! You don't get that attention to detail at a starbucks! The latte itself was delicious and lovely, a nice and balanced drink with caramel and vanilla notes. Some sweetness but not overly sweet! I'd definitely order again. I needed coffee today but realized later that they have anijsmelk lattes (one of my dogs is named after this wonderful drink) so I'm very excited to try it next time!
My only small "complaint" (more of a warning) is the cost of milk alternatives; 1$ upgrade regardless of substitute or size seems a little excessive given that milk substitutes aren't that expensive themselves. If you're planning to get nondairy, keep...
