Since 800 businesses are closing per day during the rona, we decided to support our local Portsmouth Giovanni's for lunch today. Turned out to be a major mistake! Called a good 30 minutes ahead for a curbside pickup order. Pulled up to the designated parking spot marked by a spray painted wooden sign. Sat in our car for 15 minutes waiting for someone to greet us. No one ever came. Got out the car tried to speak with one of the delivery drivers who ignored us. As we only get 30 minute lunch break and half of it was already burned waiting for service. Decided to peak inside and just pick it up at the counter. No one to be seen. Stood inside for another 5 minutes before the GM Dave? just stared at me like an alien. I told them my name and laid my money on the counter. He started to lecture me about how I should of called the number outside and waited. I informed him my phone was dead and I have already been waiting outside for almost 20 minutes. Instead of just turning around and handing my food to me as I have already laid the money on the counter to pay. He told me to go back outside and wait longer. It was also 30 degrees outside and snowing. At this point I just told him to forget it. I wasn't going to play games. When all he had to do was hand me food. When I asked him for his name as I was going to complain and wanted know who I talked to. He refused to tell me who he was multiple times. Until I asked to talk to the manager then he said he was the general manager. They need to take some tips from other local businesses like Toro Loco who actually have a great curbside pickup option. Or better yet go to the Ribber and eat inside. Hell, you can even dine inside the Taco Bell down the street and still a better option. The general manager Dave? is a complete idiot. Because of their poor pickup service and abomination of customer service you have lost a life long customer. This place deserves to go out of business treating customers this way. There are enough pizza places and Giovanni's around. Any of them are a better option...

It's easy to have all compliments on your page when you delete every complaint so that others cannot see what a truly horrible business this is!!! The food was terrible and the owners are beyond RUDE. These people shouldn't even own this type of business and I don't see how its still open treating your customers the way they did us today! THIS WAS NOT A SMALL ORDER EITHER. WE PAID $60 FOR GARBAGE and when I called back to tell the manager that my order was messed up, I was called a liar and talked to like a dog! My children wouldn't even eat the food. All of the food was cold, we received and were charged for things we didn't even order and when my husband told them we didn't want the item we didn't order, he was told he couldn't change the order after the food was made. so for arguments sake, because the woman was obviously an idiot, he just paid for it. Our sandwiches were cold and drowned in mayo, the french fries were like sticks of rubber and my antipasto salad was 99% lettuce... not loaded with veggies like every other Giovannis does. When I asked for the managers name he replied "Giovanni" and told me they were not responsible for the quality of the food once it left the restaurant!! it was a carryout order!! he said he loved how I kept adding things that were wrong, when he knew I was lying because they don't make mistakes like that & they have never had a complaint before. He then asked me "are you done now?" I said, "No, I would like to know what you're going to do about this." He said, "I'm not going to do anything about it because it's not our responsibility to make sure you're happy or that you like the food." and hung up the phone. people like this absolutely make me SICK. APPARENTLY THESE PEOPLE HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF CUSTOMER SERVICE! Learn how to treat your customers and learn some manners. It's no wonder your lot is always empty! I have never complained about every single thing in a single order in my life. Worst restaurant...
Read moreI order from this Giovanni's all the time my family and I eat here at least once every week but not anymore last night I ordered food and the pickup time was 9:50 and I had my husband pick it up we live a little over 30 minutes away and when he got home I realized they didn't give him the salad I ordered but they was already closed and my husband leaves for work at 4 am and works all day therefore the last thing on his to do list is call and complain about a salad he didn't get and I just lost my sister and have an infected tooth and a swollen face the size of a softball so I didn't remember I needed to call and complain over not getting an item we paid for so when my husband got home from work and wanted to go get something to eat we decided on Giovanni's again and he remembered the salad and when he called them about it they said since we didn't call them last night when they were closed there was nothing they could of o about it. We order from there all the time and they have overcharged us multiple times but they've never overcharged us more than $5 so I would mark it up as an extra tip for them and let it go and not say anything but not giving us what we paid for even though we have a receipt and they have cameras and they know it wasn't given to us is bull and they lost our service and a lot of business...
