Taco Bell — Restaurant in Portsmouth

You can't really expect too much from Taco Bell with it's inexpensive menu items and late night hours. This location is no different than the average expectation with some exceptions.

The drive-thru line is reasonably fast and accurate, but don't expect the food to look like the advertisements, and they are super stingy with napkins. You'd think for a business that sells food that falls out at both ends that they would be more liberal with them, but nah. My recommendation is to use the drive-thru.

If you choose to venture inside, well, it's a bit like visiting an old colonial town. At one point lots of money was thrown at this location to update it. New tables, furniture, bar style seating with electrical outlets. But since the update it appears as though the ruling colonials have left and the locals have allowed it to go to sod. Floors are tacky. Drink machines are dirty and disheveled. Tables and floors go uncleaned from trash. And for some reason the music is always at MAX level so you have to avoid sitting under an overhead speaker. This isn't all on the employees as they are most likely tasked with other work tasks other than cleaning and people here seem to not understand how to clean up after themselves. However, I can't defend the employees who gather outside the customer entrance smoking and then return to the front service counter to take orders when people come in the door. Pulled into the drive thru at 10:30 pm when they are open til 4am they ignored the car in front of me who sat there for 6 minutes. I pulled up assuming they had spent that time ordering to find they turned their sign off and were ignoring customers so they could clean. Now this wasn't some sort of scenario where they didn't notice I seen a worker walk within feet of my car to take the trash out look at me walk back inside and talked to another employee whom then moved so they couldn't be seen form the drive thru. I then had to pull around park and walk in to the same person who went and hid reluctantly coming out to take my order since I had walked in at that point and couldn't be ignored. Been going here for a decade or more never once have I been treated in such a manner before and honestly it's likely the last time I'll ever go to the taco Bell in Portsmouth. I've pulled in at 3am before and gotten prompt polite accurate service and I try to order 6 hours before close and I get treated like an...

I went here when I found out my sister started dollar General in Portsmouth and I got her a fritoburrito for her lunch and to see how she was doing she was surprised I showed up I work in lucasville dollar General and I got off at 3 and seen her at 5 . Everyone likes my sister I knew she would do good at the dollar general in Portsmouth. And she loves her job she has been there almost 3 weeks and thanks me alot cause I recommend her to the store manager and the store manager told me she really liked my sister and that she would become a good asset to the company cause I knew she could do the job as well as me.. The manager asked and I said my sister and my sister was hired that following Saturday.. I'm so happy for her and I'm glad she loves her job.. She will do great at this.
