I know it's a zoo, but there could be better decision making.
The food quality is as expected for this type of environment, maybe even a little better.
The prices are expected for this type of environment too. a simple lunch is gonna run about $$15-20 a person.
Kids menu items are bad. only a hotdog or PB&J.
No healthly side options for burgers, only fries.
okay, now for the areas needing significant improvement.
Why does your main meal sitting area only have 3 umbrellas? Please rethink this.
service needs serious improvement. first, I order at their kiosk which didn't work. I'm extremely technical, it wasn't user error. somebody came to reboot it while I was waiting at the order window. they took my order, then lost it. they handed me my drink and buzzer but didn't think to come find me to fix the order. the buzzer went off and I went to the pickup window, they said they didn't see my order. they asked me to step aside. after more than 5 orders came up and we're delivered I told the lady at the window it was time to deal with me. I wonder how long I would have waited if I didn't force the issue. Next they said my order wasn't successful ---- at the manned order window ----.
mind-blowing
they then escorted me to the main order window, retook my order, gave me a small discount (I didn't ask for it, so that was a plus), and finally got what I ordered.
Sadly I observed someone, while I was waiting at the pickup window, also go through an order issue where they missed items. that man was sent to the back of the line. again, mind blowing.
Look, I get lunch rush is tough, and errors are expected. That doesn't excuse what should happen. Make the people that have already gone through an issue a priority. Don't treat them worse.
I really hope that somebody in management sees this and takes appropriate action. With few small changes, service and atmosphere could go up significantly.
Pair that with a little more flexibility on the menu for people with medical dietary needs or even just healthy lifestyle preferences and I think you...
Read moreThe food is fine, but after waiting 30 minutes and seeing multiple people who ordered after us get their food ahead of us, we asked for a to go container and rather than invest in environmentally conscious food containers, they would rather encourage food waste by forcing their customers to trash any food they don’t eat. This feels antithetical to any environmental efforts by the zoo, given the amount of water and energy that goes into food production (makes one wonder if any of their environmental initiatives actually do anything or if it’s all just performative). Some zoo visitors are on a time limit & after waiting a ridiculous amount of time for a sandwich, perhaps do not have the time to finish their food and see the rest of the zoo so, your option is to demand your money back or throw your food away- either way wasting your time, or wasting the food itself and all the energy that went into producing it. Furthermore, 3/4 of the servers behind the counter were miserable humans who made you feel like you were inconveniencing them with your order. The worst experience we’ve ever had at the zoo & as members, we frequent the zoo often. We will certainly think again before spending additional money on any good or services the RWPZoo provides after...
Read moreI'm shocked at the bad reviews, we've been here twice and both times the food was really good. In fact, the Mezze bowl is my favorite thing about going to the zoo as the Mom. It is so good. It's $15 a burger for my kids but it's a good burger and comes with lots of fries for each kid. it's as much as it cost my family to go to 5 guys so I think for being at a zoo it's priced as expected really. The food is good and that's what matters to me. The worst is paying those prices at zoos, fairs, airports and then getting bad food. This food is delicious. The confusing thing is ordering on the kiosks...seems easier and has more menu options but my order took a long time when I did that. When I order at window it worked great and those seem to get made first. I WISH WHOLE KIOSK MENU options were on big menu board. I know they have loaded fries on kisost menu board but not on the walk-up menu. I do wish the person taking my order would smile but I guess in 2025 that's asking a lot. The person at pick up was smiling and polite. I like that they have easy condiments and it's clean and stocked. Even on a Saturday. The tables were clean. The...
