Well I made two visits before I gave my review here. The first visit was several months ago for lunch and my experience was fine. We came here 2 weeks ago to a mediocre experience. I was really hoping to give a better review but can't based a few reasons.

When we arrived on a Tuesday about 6pm, there was another table there an that's it. We had a wonderful server who gave us a Caldo de Res (Soup) appetizer. It was good, a bit salty but fine. Then I really wanted the Quesadillas Raul (remember those from the 18th st NL?) and their Nachos. The Quesadillas Raul were a little cold and the onions they used on top were raw. I always remember them being a bit sautéed. The Nachos were a little cold as well. We were so hungry we just wanted to eat and didn't want to bother sending back since there was only one other table there.

I ordered the Guisado de Puerco en Salsa Roja. While the Puerco was perfect, the Salsa Roja was a bit runny on the thin side the beans were awful. I'm not sure if the Manteca (Lard) went away with their beans but I've had better beans and I expected more from CNL. We did enjoy the homemade Flour tortillas as they gave me just 3.

I think we'll stick with the one on 26th or just deal with noise at Tequilas to...

I’ve been a fan of Nuevo León ever since I was a kid growing up in Pilsen 40 plus years. The service is not always that great, but I still would go because the food was delicious. This new location they’re pretty new they didn’t have the Menudo and Caldo the Res that they advertise on weekends. I called them from Aurora they told me that they had menudo when I arrived they did not. The servings are very small cafe style. I ended up ordering the barbacoa and it came with beans and salad with no rice or tortillas. My Wife ordered the Chilaquiles. It’s just tortillas soaked in red sauce and cheese on top no eggs included. They were going around offering little tacos to some customers as a botana as they always did when you would go to Nuevo León on 18th street. They Did not offer it to us. I was so excited to try this place it’s not the same very disappointed Mr. Gutierrez was there he didn’t care about taking care of his customers. The place just opened two days ago they have a shared bathroom the least they could do is change the...

We are old fans of the original Nuevo León on 18th Street so we had to try our favorite dish at this location. In spite of the mixed responses from other diners we found the food to be as good as the original restaurant. As we walked into the restaurant we were greeted with multiple smiling faces and welcoming hellos. The salsas and chips were excellent and both were plentiful. The waitress even offered more if we wished. We both ordered our favorite dish Guisado de Puerco. The pork and sauce tasted exactly the same although the serving might have been a little smaller than 18th Street. Nonetheless the meal as a whole was filling including the sopa (rice) and refried beans which also were the same as 18th Street. The manager stopped by our table and spoke with us about our meal. The wait staff also did a fine job in making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Although this restaurant is not very close to home we plan to...

Food was just ok, was clean and staff was pleasant. Much better places near by. Really disappointed how they nickel and dimed my dinner. One single chicken taco for my 2 year old was over $6 for extras which would have been included at any other restaurant. They charged extra for a four tortilla, tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. Chicken had zero seasoning on it. My dinner on the menu said $10 plus $3 for rice and beans. I was charged $13.52 and then extra for onion and cilantro. I also thought it was really weird that the place was also turned around a diner that walked in the door at 8:15. The hours on the door said they were open till 9pm. The place was empty. Won't be back which is disappointing because I live so close and love mexican food. Update 12/14/2024. Recieved a response to give another try. Yeah that's a hard pass. Seems like nothing has changed since there is not mention of it

OMG...this place is the place to go for authentic Mexican food. I would always eat at there 18 Street location so eating here brought me back to the familiar taste of the refried beans and rice. Their flour tortillas have a unique taste. My daughter had the chicken tostadas and I had the tacos de Sabinas. My daughter said, " Best tostadas ever!". As for me.....it brought me back to the comfort food I started to eat visiting Nuevo Leon as a little girl. You have to try this place out. I drove over an hour to get here but it was so worth it. Parking spot are limited in the front of the restaurant, but there is more on the left side of the building.
